It has been so long since I burned myself that I can't really remember the last time. I'm pretty careful when I cook. My mother was a nurse and had once worked in a burn unit. Because of that experinece, she was adamant about safety in the kitchen. It makes me very anxious if I see a pot handle extend over a stove instead of facing towards the back of a stove. I'm not saying that I've never been burned though. One of the worst burns I remember was when I forced open a pressure cooker. I had beans all over the kitchen, including the ceiling, and a doozy of a burn on my arm and hand.

Well, then you really know how to take care of yourself, so that you don't burn yourself. The pressure cooker is really very dangerous and I have fear of it!

The last time I burned myself was on Thanksgiving. I was cooking the turkey for the family. I was using my daughter's oven and I am not used to it. When I reached in to check the turkey, I accidently touched the top coil with the top of my hand.It hurt for a real long time like days! Now I have this cool little roundish scar!

Yes, I also burned myself while I was cooking. But I was cooking a chicken and when I reached to take it out from the oven I burned myself!
