Hubby and I don't have our own place yet but when we do we know that atleast a few of the light fixtures will house the newer style of bulbs. I have heard they save a bit of money as compared to the other bulbs, and also last longer saving more money because of the lack of need to continuously buy bulbs.

Be careful handling some of those bulbs. Do not break them for they contain mercury in the gas.One day, the old incandescent bulb will be history. They could have done a better job of making them though. I hear that Edison's original light bulb still works. Hmmmm?? They don't make anything like the used to. Somebody out there just wants me to buy more bulbs. Wouldn't it be more green to have them last nearly forever??? How much energy is wasted making bulbs???? If only Mr. Edison was selling light bulbs.
