Does your printer hate you too?

My printer, or every printer I've ever had, hated me. No matter if it is throwing the occasional tantrum and getting disconnected from my computer or whining and saying it requires a new ink cartridge, it wouldn't let me print in peace. 
Any of you share my frustration/?

The biggest problem I have with printers is that I don't need to print that often! And printers work better if you use them frequently. I'd go so long between print jobs that the ink would completely dry up! So I'd be buying 1 ink cartridge and then only using it once! Such a waste of money!

I didn't know that printers work better when used often. I only use it occasionally too but it's usually really important things that I really need printed. I agree buying ink cartridges isn't the best use of our money especially in this economy. Not having a printer doesn't work either though

Printer work same whether you use them or not talking about usage it comes to ink if you don't use the ink frequently the ink dries off once u have installed the ink cart rage then it opens up and if u don't print once in ever 3-4 or max a week the ink will dry up and wastage of money.
My printer also hated me but i didn't leave it i made it print me 50 pages since that day its working great.lol

I was thinking printing less would make the printer give me less trouble and save some ink but it's the other way around? I would try using my printer more and see if it helps. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah. I have one printer on the last 10 years or so, I still have it. It started to hate me 3 years ago... xD I have to put one paper all the time because if I put a stack it just blocks or pulls more than one paper and it prints half in one and some in the others it also pulled -.-'

Yup, printers hate people. Your problem sounds pretty bad terrible but at least you have 7 years of it working perfectly. My printer is hardly 2 years old.

Yea, there are so many electronics in mass productions today, some of it might not compare to the quality of electronics a decade ago and might even be giving us more problems. It's a little ironic though, since we always view the tech industry as constantly improving.

yes, have a fairly new printer/copier and it will work once then it has an error message come up , same problem , printer cannot be found. It found itself once to print okay then lost itself again I guess, so yea it hates me!

I know that problem well too. There's no way to fix it. I tried reconnecting the cable, re-installing the CD, restarting the computer and restarting the printer but to no valid. I share your pain...

has always given me grief! So you are so not alone! I think
they all do that! When I used to work I had the same problems!
My Laser Jet is always doing something to piss me off! I think
they are just made that way! They are either getting papers
stuck in the Que or stuck somewhere in the printer itself!

When so many people have problems with them, it certainly seems like printers were made to be evil. At least there is other things in life we can be happy about. Happy Mylotting.

Yep. I hate it and the monster hates me back. I finally gave up and put him in the top of my closet and take advantage of the free printers on my college campus. Once I graduate Im going to have to buy another one. Every single time I tried to print or scan something I had to reinstall the printer and it just infuriated me.

You're so lucky that your college provide free printers. At my college, we have to pay 12 cents for each page printed so I thought it would be cheaper if I just bought a printer.

My printer has also started to hate in recent times I have already had to change two cartridges and now it does not take paper in properly and so I only get half the print. So I have to put paper in one by one to make sure I get a proper print and even then sometimes I have to press the stop button because it does not take the paper in properly. Besides that I get the occassional paper jam once its in.

I also have the ink problem. I don't print a lot, only maybe 8 or 9 pages since I changed the ink cartridges but now it indicates it only has half the ink level 
. Paper jams sound really annoying but I haven't had any yet. Maybe when my printer gets older...
