Would you help a stranger?

Sounds like probably a silly question because no matter how we try humans will never leave another who might be in need. Unless by some sheer coincidencce that person has no soul. Honestly though do you preserve your good deeds for only the people you know? Its one of the most difficult decision one has to make sometime because of what the world has now become. Could that the very one you help turns around and stabs you in the back (literally).
As children of God we have heard the saying "Help those in need for in doing so we maybe entertaining angels". We have at some point in our life been told to do good to others. It is in human nature to help but for some reason or another humans are losing this inert response to help others. It is more of a self preservation than being your brother's keeper. Would you help a stranger with the same amout of urgency as you would for someone you know?

Hi wenjule.
Would I help a stranger. Sure, but I try to stay alert to what the Holy Spirit says. If there's a hint of "warning bells" inside of me I back off.
I think, on the average, I get to help a stranger once a week.
oh, btw, the environment where the "need" is is also a factor. Lonely road, umm, best to contact the local police to help that person.

There are many ways where a person can do the deed of helping others in generosity. I may help a stranger but i have to be alert. There are many bad people around us and which is which among them. We cannot know who bad people are unless we have been a victim for that matter. Helping others is a virtue but at present time, there is nothing wrong if we are cautious of the possibilities in effect of a certain situation.
