Does Anyone Wear Anything Around The House That They Would Never Wear In Public?

I am the proud owner of a goofy huge fuzzy purple sweat shirt, with the words on it that say, She Who Must Be Obeyed. It is the most comfortable thing I own. I do only wear it at home, of course some delivery people and the mailman has seen it. Do you wear anything at home you would not be caught in outside?

I have a different set of clothes that I wear only around the house and sets of clothing that I use when I go out of the house. I'd never be caught outside wearing my "house clothes", unless of course, during an emergency like waking up to find out that the house is on fire. Of course, during such times, I would naturally not take time to change my clothes before going out of the house and in the rush, I would be forced to go out in my house clothes.
I love wearing ultra comfortable clothes around the house, and most of the time, these clothes are either too worn out or stained that I would not want to wear them in public anymore.

Well,
I can tell you it is nice to read that I am pretty normal. I thought I was unusual but it seems that quite a few people, have clothes they wear around the house and never in public.

I have this PJ that I wore when I was painting the house. The PJ was covered with paints and the stains cannot be removed. I would never wear it in public of course! LOL.

I too have paint covered clothes. They are the paint covered sweat pants. I keep washing them and each time, a bit more paint comes out. Obviously, I would not wear this in public but they go quite nicely, with my huge purple "She who must be obeyed fuzzy sweatshirt".

Hi celticflower,
Actually, probably not. I dress in whatever is comfortable and I really don't care what others think as far as that goes. I think the only things i'd be concerned about wearing in public are things that show too much skin. At my age that is a good thing.

I actually am working on, trying not to worry to much about what others think about what I wear. I agree with you about the skin thing. I think there comes a time where you do want to watch out, for not showing to much skin.

I have a few pairs of pj's that I won't wear out in public. All are fleece and extremely comfy. One set is pink and polka-dotted, one pair is leopard printed, and the other is red plaid. I wear them around the house all of the time, but I would never wear them out in public unless I absolutely had to.

Oh, I have comfy robes that are like that.
I think what I was thinking is more, of something ridiculous. That would be not nightware. Something that could be worn in public but you never would.

I actually have a pair of these giant oversized purple silk pants, I call them clown pants but they are comfortable and I love wearing them. I refuse to wear them around anyone! Not even my sisters, so whenever they come to visit I hide them now. I have a few shirts that I would never wear out in public, but thats more so because they have extremely 'dirty' sayings on them and I don't like wear those things in public cuz I have a huge fear of people staring at me.

Yep, I understand exactly what you mean. My huge purple fleece top aside from saying, She Who Must Be Obeyed has a picture of a Big Dog on it. My husband got it for me at the The Big Dog Store. He thought the She Who Must Be Obeyed slogan was funny.

I have a ton of clothes that I don't ever wear out in public. Being a stay at home mom, I live for comfort since I stay in the house during the days with the kids. I have this old ratty t-shirt that I've had since highschool that has been washed so much that it's starting to thin out, and has a hole in the back by the hem, that I live in. I know it needs to go to the trash because you can almost see threw it, but gosh, I don't wanna give up my comfort shirt. I thankfully have a pink plush robe I and throw on that's just as hidious if someone stops by to deliver something, so I look like a real good ball in that, but I just smile when they give me that look like oh my, what's this women wearing... and say "Comfort" and leave it at that.

I have this old 90's abercrombie 7 fitch jacket that stops right before the belly. I use it as a lounge hoodie when I am just hanging around the house. I would never go out in public with it. It is so out dated and hideous!
