Do You Still Run Up The Stairs?

It's been a long time since I've done this. When I was younger I ran up and down the stairs all the times. Especially at night when I would always imagine that some ghost or monster is after me. Now, it seems like it will be hard for me to do. My feet got bigger for the steps, the height of the steps seems to be lower now so I need to take two or three at a time, and there's always the risk of miscalculating the steps and tripping. I think I'll try it later. Do you still run up and down the stairs?

There was a time last year where I ran up and down the stairs in one of the emergency exit. This was my form of exercise, instead of just sitting in front of the monitor the whole day. I would do it 4 or 5 times up to the mezzanine which is about 30 steps or so. It would take the wind out of me!
Of course when the layoffs started, and everybody got anxious, I got lazy and stopped doing this. I should start again. Maybe this week.

Hello Nocturn,
I do not have stairs anymore, but when ever I'm visiting someone, i find that I run up the stairs, because I want to get up the steps faster, because I don't like to walk up steps in general, and for that reason I always pick the down stairs apartment anytime, I move into a new place.

It's been quite a long time since I have run up the stairs. However, still run down the stairs. The main thing that made me run up and down the stairs when I was younger was that for some reason I had this unexplicable fear of a ghost that I thought was looking in the window at me whenever I was in the basement after dark. Even today, I have a difficult time dealing with open windows whenever it is after dark, but our staircase in our house now doesn't have any windows where anyone could look in, so I don't have the need to run up or down the stairs.

We only have a few steps at home and its very rare that I run up the few steps. But when I was still a student, I love racing the stairs in our school. We are now renovating the house and it's not only a few steps now, but I doubt that I will still run up the stairs, I'm a bit scared now and it would really be embarrassing if I fell down the stairs at my age..haha

It depends on who's chasing after me at the timealthough I have thought about running up AND DOWN the stairs for some exercise. The cat does it all the time and it's not done her any harm. It really annoys me when people run up escalators as though they are not moving fast enough for them. They really should get a life!

Yes I often run upstairs and jump three or four steps at once on my way down. It's fun and takes out the boredom in the whole ordeal. Imagining someone behind you is creepy and gets me running at times, especially after watching a scary movie in the middle of the night when the lights are out. The worst thing is when you bend down to wash your face and expect to see something creepy behind you as you look up in the mirror.

I often jog up my stairs. I constantly run down my stairs. It just feels good to run in doors. I feel like I am doing a small exercise when I run up and down my stairs. I do not do it just for fun. I only do it when I need to go up and down them. it makes me feel energized and young.

Honestly, it depends on the day I've had. If it was a really busy day at work and I am already very tired, I avoid going upstairs until I absolutely have to. Other than that, I make an effort to run up the stairs when I can because it is such good exercise.

I pretty much always run up the steps :D
I usually start by jumping the first 4 or five too, then go for the sprint finish. Also use my arms to get some extra pushing power. haha its silly really but its just what i usually do :D
going down i usually jump the last 5 too but i got to be careful not to smack my head on the ceiling.

Hah, and here I thought I was one of the only people that ran up the stairs when you get older. I don't do it quite as much as I used to but I still run DOWN the stairs almost every single time.

I try not to run up and down the stairs. Because I am afraid of miscalculating the steps I am going up or down and then tumbling down. But when I am in a hurry then I will have to run up the stairs. I guess because I am older too and don't have as much energy as when I was younger.

Yes I still run up the stairs but I'm pretty careful on the way down lol. That feeling like there is someone behind you is horrible and I used to suffer from it a lot and fear of dark rooms and places, but not so much now since I've become a Chirstian. I do try and run up the stairs for fitness sometimes, and take the stairs instead of the escalator walking.

Hi. I'm already 30 this year. I've just bought a 2 storey terrace house. Either you want it or not, you have to step on the stairs to go to your bedroom. Until today, I'm still running when I'm going up stairs. But not when I'm going down. Luckily I still have the energy to run up stairs. I wonder what will happen in the next 10 or 15 years later? I've already reserved a room downstairs for the usage when I'm old. There is no need for me to get upstairs any more...:

I no longer run up stairs. I live on the second floor and trust me when I say I'm tired of having to climb stairs. I've lived here for 4 years, and I've come to the conclusion the next place I live is not going to have stairs. I like being up high and the view, but dislike the stairs part. It is funny because when I was growing up back in my childhood they were building these model homes close to where we lived. We would take walks and many times walk through the model homes just for fun. I always loved the model houses that were two stories with stairs. Perhaps, I thought they were cool because they were different than our house or something. It does not take long having to constantly walk up stairs before you begin to understand the disadvantages of stairs. Perhaps it is not so bad if you do not have to lug groceries or heavy items up the stairs but still it just gets to be old after a while...
