I hate blackouts. Especially when it is dark out. There is not enough light to read a book. Maybe, I'll get out a board game if there is enough light. However, I will just lay down and go to sleep. After cursing out the power for going out that is. I would try and wait it out. Of course, I would probably be getting up every five minutes to check if the power is still on.

Blackout for us here is no longer an unusual situation, though we don't often experience this one. I already know what to do every time there is blackout. Before, I used to prepare a flashlight near me, especially if I am already aware of a possible blackout. But now, I don't have flashlights here in my house so what I usually prepare are candles and match sticks. I often stay where I am positioned before and after blackout. But sometimes, I feel scared with darkness, especially if I'm alone at home.

Blackouts don't happen often here. The electricity network in my country is very professional and reliable but once a few year there is a blackout, either because of maintenance or a failure in the system. I would just light some candles when it's dark and have a chat or something or read a book, it's better than playing on the computer and it makes you aware of the importance of electricity in our daily lives, especially in the developed countries.

Hi. That was the situation that I hate most. When blackout happens at my house, I use to take my family out somewhere no matter it is rainy or not. Except when it happen late at night. I have no choice except for forcing myself to sleep although it is very difficult because it's going to be hot. Furthermore it will be a loss because I can't do MyLot...:

Blackouts are great opportunities to stop everything that you are doing and think. You can contemplate about yourself, your life, relationships.. without the distraction of modern technology.
