Hey, MyLot mates & friends!
Today I found a interesting question for me and I think also for you. Is it important - who is putting down a discussion in MyLot? Are you looking at discussion starters rating at Mylot, Star of popularity or just nickname? Do you have enemies at MyLot , which discussion you are not looking at?
Personally I - No. I don't have any enemies. I'm answering if I can in every discussion that interests me. It's completely no matter who is author of discussion - Man with 10000 responses and 10th star level or just newbie with some responses and no star. How it's with you? I think it's very interesting topic, I'm interested in every response! Thank you for attention my friends!
Have a great day and happy mylotting!
P.S Sorry that I'm putting this line in almost every discussion - Sorry for my so-so english!

Hello, Abruzzi. No, I don't look at the discussion originator - just the topic. If it's interesting to me, I'll respond to it. And I don't consider I have enemies at MyLot either. I have had disagreements with one or two people, but once I have stated my position, that's it forgotten.
I do tend to go to friends' discussions more than others, simply because I am notified about them, and also I know I'll get an interesting discussion. I've seen newbies who've posted very interesting discussions and veterans who've posted not so interesting ones, so the stars and post counts don't signify really.

Abruzzi, perhaps I didn't explain myself very well. I don't have enemies here, but I have had some disagreements which are now sorted out. Sorry to confuse you.

In all honesty, yes I do place importance on the discussion starter as one of the factors that determine which discussions I respond to. If they are on my friends list, then I will most likely respond to it if it is in the same interest as mine and if I have something to share. There are also some discussions posted by people whom does not belong to my friends list but I still do respond to them if I find the topic interesting. Why not, right? but quality is important to me, above all else.

Yes, it is important for me to go through discussions started by my friends first. But I also take time to see what others have posted. In some cases, I read a part of the discussion made by others to determine whether I have anything substantial to share, so they are not completely ignored though.

Mostly I just respond to discussions that catch my intest. The subject interests me and therefore I look further into the discussion and respond. I also try and respond to discussions my friends started as much as possible, which sometimes results in responding to discussions I otherwise perhaps not would have picked. I don't look at the star rate or whether or not someone is new. If people use a lot of slang in their discussion that can be a reason for me not to reply, or to merely reply if they can type proper English so I will be able to know what they are writing. I am not a native speaker myself, but if you are writing like you would be texting you are not taking mylot or your fellow discussers seriously in my opinion.

It doesn't matter for me who write it, I am looking for either one at a similar or interest that was my visit and if there was something that caught my attention and I could write the words that match those discussions so I will try to apply them in a few sentences that contain the meaning. If too long, I usually miss and look for the easy to understand. my English is not standard and still in the refinement stage.

It doesn't matter to me who has posted a discussion, as if it is interesting enough, I will respond. I really don't pay attention to who really starts the discussion anyway. To me it is more important that it be interesting enough for me to respond to. I will post responses to newbies, as well, so you see it really doesn't matter one way or the other. I do respond to the newbies, because they sometimes need help, and that is what mylot is all about anyway. Good luck to you, and happy mylotting.

hi abruzzi1 10 no indeed it is not as if it were I miight never have picked your discussion.no what I pick is what interests me, the title, the subject, how it is presented, I will go to my friends list first as I owe something to them but the way I pick is by the topic that interests me, and the way it is written. Like yours, the title grabbed me and what you said I think we have all wondered at times, just how do we pick which discussions we respond to. So since I liked your style of writing and you way you presented your topic it drew me in and here I am responding to you and having a great time. good discussion too.

Hi abruzzi10,
Do not apologize for your English, it was understandable. As you mylot, your english will improve I'm sure. In any case, I think that this is a very interesting question. I find that most people (including myself) will look at the star level, the amount of posts, and also the username to determine whether they should respond. I like to respond to friends, so I try to do that before venturing to other discussions, but I've responded to those with a lower star and a lower post count as well.
I suppose what I am trying to say is that while I do try to look for those conditions above, I am also not going to avoid someone because they are "new" after all i was once new here as well.
Have a wonderful Day.

No, it doesnt matter for me who's writing or starting the discussion as long as I know I can respond, comment and contribute to the discussion. What important is the substance of your response rather than judging or bothering who started the thread. If you'll look in the rating before you respond it will take you hours before you do your task.

You are right. Substance is an important thing to consider when responding to a discussion, not on the appearance of the user. But sometimes, you will remember a trademark for a particular user based on his/her activity. Example, you notice a user who keeps on posting discussions without substance, once you see the same avatar, you might predict that the another discussion posted the same user will be nothing of substance again unless there is someone to help out the user to change the habits of posting quality content. Similar issue on trolling.

No not exactly. The first thing that attracts towards the discussion is the subject/title. Then the content. But yes off course, when you are following some onse particular's posts, then a perceptive image get printed on your mind about the person, and while it makes a lot of different about the each forth coming post of that member. And of that member writes above/below to that expectation, that makes a lot of difference..........

I don't mind who wrote the discussion that I am replying to. I just respond to those discussions that I feel that I have something to say. Sometimes when I saw that a mylotter writes interesting stuffs I add him/her as a friend and I try to participate with his/her discussion whenever I can.
There are some discussions that I don't bother to look at, like the ones that has one liner questions posted by new users. It's my way of saying that if you don't follow the rules, you won't get mylotters' attention.

Hey! Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree with you! I'm doing the same as you sad - adding him or her as a friend, and then I'm trying to participate in discussions they make, because discussions are very interesting!
Thank you once more, have a great day!

I think most of the people would say No, because people don't usually pay attention to whom writes the discussion, but to what is the discussion about. I also believe it's important to know how to answer the question and even if you don't solve a question, just give your opinion on something that interests you or feel like answering.

Hello abruzzi10,
It doesn't matter to me who started the discussion. I like to respond to topics that look interesting to me. Whenever I have more time to spend here, I try to respond to all the discussions started by the ones on my friends list and continue to look for any other interesting topics - doesn't matter the star, the number of post or catchy nickname that the poster has.

Hi abruzzi! First of all I think your English is just fine!
And I love your avatar! I never look at anything except the
discussion when I am responding! I don't care who is starting
it, if I know them or what color their star is! In fact, I
love responding to Newbies discussions! I was a Newbie two
years ago and we all were at one time! So none of those things
matter to most of the people that I know! The only important
things is the quality of the discussion and that's the way
that it should be!

I don't mind who is the writer of the discussion I wanted to comment on it. I'm not looking for any one else. who or any ratings that would be.
I'm here to participate any discussion as long as I can. Have a nice day, my friend...

To me, finding a discussion I am interested in, is what is important in choosing what to respond to. I don't think it is important who is actually starting the discussions. I don't really know anyone on mylot so it makes no difference to me.

For the most part, its the discussion that grabs the attention..But I must admit that there are a couple of folks who..oh..because of genre or previous interactions grab my attention first..Enjoy!

No. I think it's not important. I just need simple question so I can answer it. I don't really like hard and confused question! It can make me mad. I usually search discussion by its category. I prefer to make money only category. I don't have any enemy of course. Sorry for my bad english. Happy Mylotting!
