What would you do(moral dilemma)

In a sort of dilemma. a friend of mine asked me what i would do if an ex of mine that i really loved got raped. he was questioning if i would get revenge on the raper or just let it lie just because she was my ex. or what if it was your current girlfriend(or boyfriend) what would you do? just tell the police? how would you look at her(or him) when you are together? Help me out here

Thats a stick dilemma there. Of course since you love the person, it is only natural to want to get revenge. But in the end, what does revenge really get you...both of you behind bars. The best thing to do is to offer support, love and kindness and just be a good listener to the person it happened to and also involve the police. BUt let the police do their jobs and catch them theirselves. You would be no good to your friend or loved one if you, yourself are in jail.

thank you for that. i mean i mostly thought that if i don't do something it says like i didn't love the person or don't care for their predicament.because initially she called me and told me and the tone was like she wanted me to do something about it you know. and i wanted to, and if we were in the same city maybe i would have already. i think your suggestion is the better way out though
