This must be a cultural thing, I don't understand the purpose of this marriage. Is it to get away from your family's control? Does a married woman have more freedom than a single one? What are a husband's rights? I need a little more information on this subject.

I do not understand about arranged marriages. We do not do that in the US. Is this man someone your parents chose for you? It's hard to explain the meaning of marriage,becoz,in every country,the culture and tradition differs a lot. Here in my country,marriage doesn't make any big difference. The family ties and support will always there,your lifestyle won't change much. You can still work and pursue your career,depending on your choice,or what you and your husband decide(if you will stay a full pledge housewife or work till you had a baby) You family and his family can still visits you or even stay for days in house,and so with friends. But,in other countries...it is different.So,i can't tell what's the meaning of marriage with regards on your part my friend. Married is the perfect bond of union you can't decide of what you want because once you married the husband is the lead so you must follow your husband not your own so that you became one law that's the married if you don't like that situation then your not capable to in in the married life.
