Hello mylotters,
may the response depends on the age, but I post this discussion just to know your ideas and thoughts about this part
and I ask for the another question: which is more?? pocket money of girls or boys??
may it's the same question and it's not, because girls usually don't work for they pocket money, so the money spent is from her pocket money and they spend lot, they buy usually new clothes and articles but boys usually their pocket money is fewer then girl's
so they have to work
I know that my opinion is not clear and true maybe because I am young so please feel free to share your ideas
thanks in advance

I think that gender does not matter, it's the interests and wants of an individual person that would cause them to spend more then another person, whether that person be of the same or different gender, as well as same or different age. It's more of wants and needs rather then age and gender that are factors, in my opinion.
A woman of 20 could spend as much or as little as a man of 20, or a man of 20, could spend more or less of a man of 50 it all depends. Also I think that the different countries, different poverty levels, different classes, and different upbringings are a factor.

Yes there are a lot of factors, maybe even some that I am not aware of. It's great to discuss about said things and get the opinions of said people.

Girls have the tendency to spend a bit more than boys, but i know of a lot of teenage girls who work on school holidays. As their spending gets more expensive, a lot of parents will rather let them earn the extra cash working on holidays or do extra errands at home, than give them more pocket money. They have to learn to work with a budget, there is no other alrenative.

In my country the gils will rather do holiday work, like waitressing, grocery packing or minding other people,s children. The boys can be a problem, but they have to learn as the girls do. No child under the age of 16, may work and if still at school, they may only work school holidays. I cannot see the difference between both working as they eventually have to learn what life will be like after school.

according to me females usually spend more money. i have various reasons for it. dont consider it seriously. it's according to me. first one is that females are usually free and then theget the idea of donig sshopping or do something exciting but males are usually in their work.

In one sense you would think that there would be a simple answer to this question, but there isn't. In my family, I am the one that doesn't spend money. I'm constantly checking our checking account so I always know how much money we have at any given time therefore I am afraid to spend money if we are close with our bills. However, my husband is constantly buying tools and things for himself and then I have to question him about where he is spending the money (we don't use credit cards anymore).
Then there is my brother and sister-in-law. My brother is the one that doesn't spend money except for the extra pocket money that he gets by donating plasma twice a week. His wife, on the other hand is constantly buying something or another and they are constantly complaining that they are broke because she is a spender.
So, in essence, I think the answer to the question depends a lot on the individual.

I personally believe it costs more if a girl or a woman wants to look in a socially feminine way. It doesn't mean sexism but the truth is our female counterparts tend to receive unfair treatment if they don't attend themselves in order to meet certain standard. In other words, women have to care about their clothes, hairstyle, accessories, make-ups, skin condition, body shape etc. so to place themselves on respectful social scale. A woman would be disgust if she has net straw on her head and flaky skin on her face. Wearing lousy clothes and having 'natural' body smell won't win them any goodwill. There is less strict standard for men if we supply the subject of last sentences with 'a man'. It would be hard to see a woman who spends 0 penny on herself and still be able to lead a proper social life or a successful career.

I think it depends on nature but almost male are spend their more money than girls may be girls are always think on savings but boys think on spend money because they thought that why we are work all time so they thinks that savings are good but not much but girls thinks that saving is good than spend money because saving money help us for our future but both are right on their opinion.

Pocket money does not depend on girl or boy but it depends on the capacity and willingness of parents. If they can afford to pay more money and are willing to pay more to their children, whether the child is boy or girl, the pocket money will be more. Second question, girls need more money as they have more requirements. They have to buy cosmetics for different purposes and other requirements too. But some boys spend more for dresses and shoes and spend for partying or spending for girlfriend. So both your questions cannot be pin pointed to one answer.

Hi Joucem,
Welcome to Mylot! Well, I am a woman and I have been earning my own pocket money since I was about 11 yrs old. I started out babysitting for extra money for things and I had a regular job after school from the time I was 15. As soon as I graduated from school, I was out on my own and working full time and have been working ever since. My daughters are all the same way ....they work hard. My 15 yr old does not have a job yet but she helps out around the home a lot and earns her allowance. Because I work hard for my money and the economy is such, I am very frugal with my money. I don't spend a lot on luxeries. Men spend as much on their stuff as woman do, I feel. It all depends on the person.

I don't really think that someone's gender determines whether they spend more money than someone of the opposite gender. I think that, depending on circumstances, both can spend a lot of money. I think that this is just one of those things that is not gender specific. I don't think that one gender does it more than the other.

I believe both gender (Male or Female) have the same ability to spend money. However, it could vary depending on their age, status in life, type of work/ job, lifestyle, culture, hobbies, etc. Some girls spend a lot of money shopping for make up, new dress, shoes, perfume, jewelries, etc. On the other hand, males also have an expensive hobby, just like my hubby. He spends a lot of money in tech stuffs like new mobile phone, laptop, PSP, ipod, etc.

It does not depend on male or female. It depends on the personality. One person says men's necessities are less than women's. That also depends on the person. Many men use as much toiletries and buy as many clothes as women. I think it depends more on the person's circumstance. A person who works for their spending money is more likely to have more than the one who depends on their parents for spending money (unless the parents are very well off).
LOL Where are you from. Where I live girls DO work for their spending money and those who do are much more frugal with it than the person who depends on their parents to supply it.

Hey, mate! Welcome to MyLot!
Actually it's very hard question. Of course most of people here (men) will say that females are spending much more than males. But I don't agree... sometimes you can find rich males. They throwing money away like a trash... so this time I suggest and I'm sure that Males and Females are spending the same amount of money. Thank you for great article. Have a great time today!

As far as I am concerned, I think the females spend more money than males. Because the females usually buy aot of things. They will buy some clothes that they like most which will help them to be more beautiful. Then , they usually buy some other things as they like. They enjoy spend a lot of money.

I think it depends on what we are shopping for. I think women spend more for personal care items and household items. A guy will spend more on the latest cell phones and other gadgets than we do..and cars I think a guy will spend more on a car than we will.

hi!
well, it really depends from a person how he/she spend his/her money. some girls are really addicted into shopping that some man are not. but i think boys inerest is a higher costing money like cars.. comething like that but also girls like jewelries and branded bags that cost alot too.. well my point it depends to the person of what he/she wnats to do to their money and of their lifestyles
