you may request a check from paypal but you should have a confirmed address in order to allow your request by the system, you will receive the check within 7-10 days or 1-2 weeks approximately, if you did not receive the check after the 14th business days you may call paypal to file a missing check

If you have a checking account all you have to do is request a transfer into your checking account and it will be there within a few days. I didn't know that Paypal sends checks out but if they do you probably have to wait for 1 to 2 weeks. I always just transfer to my checking account,its so much easier.
