A lot of stress exists on our brain as we work a lot of time during daytime.
In order to give rest to the brain and boost some energy to the brain when we wake up once again we have to sleep and our mind becomes fresh and we get good ideas.
Actually our brain processes a lot of audio,video,images,graphics,texts,.. and a lot of things during our travel or work .They will be transferred from temporary memory to permanent memory in such a way that the more our interest we put put on things, they will be easily stored into our memory. So we have to sleep and give rest to our brain.
for exmaple if we run for 1 kilometer we will loose our energy and sit for some time.At that time our muscles get relaxed and gain some energy.Similarly a brain which works for a lot of time under long pressure needs rest. That's it,nothing more than that.
The things what we have undergone in our daily life only will come into our dreams. Its a vast universe where we can imagine anything. In fact i got the dream of a similar one like avatar movie. Our interest, our passion will definetly influence our brain while we dream. So think what should be in dream wen you are in reality.

wow! nice! you have great perception about dreaming. Very interesting! Dreaming like the "Avatar" movie...coolness..hihi! Oh I hope I could dream like that. Lately, due to excessive work I tend to forget what was my dream all about.

I heard somewhere, that main function of the sleep is to help brain to remember the things that have happened during the day. While we sleep, our brain keeps going, it sorts out the things you don't need to remember and the ones that you will need to recall in the future. So while we sleep, brain sorts out the useful stuff and forgets everything else. The rest of the body rests while we are sleeping, restoring energy needed for the next day.
But that's what I heard, not sure if that's correct.

i've heard that sleeping and mostly dreaming is your minds way of dealing with daily problems. in sleep your minds figures things out or contemplates things. physically your body needs its rest and dreaming isn't necessary for that. in some cases there are people who never dream, or more so they never remember their dreams. a persons mind is very complicated and dreams are what help us understand our life. dreams can be interpreted as wants and desires, things you should or shouldn't be doing or even show you the truth that when you are awake you avoid or try not to see. it's an honest look into your own mind and how it works.

We sleep because our body and mind are tired. But sometimes only our body sleeps, but our mind keeps thinking of things. The dreams are the result of constant remembrance of things in life.
Although there are cases were people see things which they have never seen in life, but see in dreams. But these cases are very rare.
Apart from those, most of the things that you see in dream would be of the things that happened in your life.

I thing that all creature on Earth sleep. This is some kind of body refreshing. We need to rest, to reload our energy level. Our mind needs rest too - that's why we're out when we sleep. What I know about dreams is that they are some kind of memory recycling. Our brain deletes unusable memories with the help of the dreams. But why sometimes we remember our dreams? That's strange .
Sleeping, dreaming . . . these things are still not 100% solved . Maybe we're just like rechargeable battery, isn't it :)

sleeping is an important one for mankind,it is a must one,if you not sleep properly, definitely you will face many problems you're health will be affected.
if you can't sleep ,just you have take a book whatever you prefer and read it for continuously for maximum 1hr ,Automatically you fall asleep.
i got this main idea from my friend.yes it really works.i have tried many times.
dreams comes from your thoughts which you have not been succeeded.
yes there are many ways to take rest.
but you should note that when we sleep we don't use our brain.that's why i prefer you that sleeping is good for health and its also a time pass.

In order to keep working, our body needs to rest, the state of which is called sleep. It is when your blood pressure lowers, your breathing is slower, your heart beats slower, and some organs even completely shut down. Dreaming however I can not explain, I believe its generally your brain reflecting on what has happened recently in your life. Or possibly your brain over thinking certain issues that bother you deep down.

Like a rechargeble battery there are times that it become empty and if it's empty it will never give a power to have a work. That's why we need to sleep in order to have and energy again to do work.
Then regarding about the dreams. My psychology teacher tell it to me that the dream is done because of the continuos thinking of mind that's why we dream. That's why it's normal to dream and if you do not dream it's somekind of un normal.

We sleep because our body needs to rest a while after working for the day and because our bodies need the time to grow and fix itself during sleep when we are not active.
I think we dream because it is the mind when it is thinking at nighttime; either that or they are some significant message that comes to you when you're asleep. No one really knows for sure right now. It could have some scientific reason or a more supernatural one.

Well for the obvious we sleep to replenish depleted energy that our bodies and minds need to restore. As for dreams you have to sleep to have them obviously, but scientifically you dream after you get into deep sleep known and REM sleep. I am no expert but when we dream its just our subconscious mind trying to make sense of all the images, sounds, smells, and experiences we come in contact with on a daily basis. That is why we tend to dream more vividly following a traumatic experience.
