My daughter just returned from a week's trip to Las Vegas, and she kept me updated on all the fun they were having while vacationing there. I agreed with her that it was a chance of a lifetime, and one that she well deserved because she works so hard. I used to think that I might want to visit there myself one day, but I don't feel much like traveling these days. Have you ever wanted to visit there, or have you been already? She emailed me some nice photos, one of which I will post here. They stayed at the Mandalay Bay.

We went to Vegas in May with some friends to get married. It's definitely a crazy place and it's somewhere you can go for cheap - IF you aren't going to gamble. The only problem I found is that everything is really centered around gambling so it's shoved in your face every time you turn around, despite there being so many other things to see and do. The shows are amazing, but seeing them can get quite expensive. The Hoover damn was awesome and I'm really glad we got to see that. I also wasn't crazy about the heat and you walk ALOT. Next time we go I think we will sleep all day and venture out at night, and plan things better so we don't just walk aimlessly up and down the strip until our feet feel like they're going to fall off!

My friend went a few years ago, jessp, and she would agree with you about all of the walking. She said her feet hurt for a week after she got home.I know that my daughter likes to gamble on a small scale, but she said that her bf spent much of the time in their hotel room enjoying the view and the food and watching the news on TV.

Las Vegas is not a place I would want to visit. Not a gambler, no interest in seeing a show. Also, don't have the money to travel. My preference is to travel to the beach. That is something more my cup of tea. Nice, warm sunny beaches preferably!

I can fully understand why it wouldn't be attractive to some people, Elusive.
