I live in California and have my whole so I'm used to an occasional earthquake. But, really that's all they are. Believe or not alot more earthquakes happen all over the country everyday that are to small for people to feel. California on the other hand has several fault lines that cause us to have more frequent earthquakes that we do feel. However to say "with all the earthquakes going on in California" is kind of a mis-nomer. There has only been three significant earthquakes of any consequence in California in the last year. The one last week while being strong in magnitude was really not that distructive overall. Actually people in the midwest who suffer tornado season, and people on the south east coast who suffer through Hurricane season every year, both have far more chance of having destruction of their property or injury than people in earthquake country. As for me, I live in southern California about 2 miles from Disneyland. It's early January and right now it is a beautiful sunny day, without a cloud in the sky, and about 70 degrees. That's why 35 million people live in California, and why about 15 million of those live in the Southern third of the state alone.

I've also lived in California for my whole life and the earthquakes don't really phase me. This is probably due to the fact that I live in the northern part of the state where you can't really feel the earthquakes. Just a few days ago, there was a 6.4 quake but I hardly felt anything. I didn't even know there was one until my sister mentioned it to me when I got home from work that night.
So, it's not the quakes that I'm worried about. It's the fires in the summer. Those forest fires can get very bad around where I live.

If I was able to move to California,I really wouldn't mind at all.Every part here in the United states has some kind of natural disaster.I'd be afraid to live in Kansas worrying about the tornadoes,I think that's scary.

I would. I actually love Los Angeles. And since there are millions of people that live in California, its obviously not that bad. Even though there are earthquakes, there are still stuff about California that I just love. Like The wheather, the people, the entertainment. California is definitely a hot spot!
