I want to start an online business but I do not know where to start. The only thing that I am sure of is that I want to build a grant-writing, business proposal writing, article writing, poems, short stories, essays, web design, and everything about online money-making opportunities that are legitimate and not scam. Any idea?

Well, I would 1st make some kind of model or "outline" of what you want your website's purpose to serve as. I would also educate yourself on how online businesses work by maybe purchasing a book of some sort that you can get on Amazon. After that, I would contact a website designer and tell them your ideas and the features that you want for your website.

I think we need to clarify some things here.. Your title is "Online Jobs".. and then you said "you wanted to start an online business"... Having a job and having an online business are two different things. In having a job, you expect to get paid with a salary-like compensation, whether the project is profitable or not at the end of the going, you expect a fixed compensation. That's how job or employment work. In contrast, in online business, sometimes you do not get paid for days, weeks, or even months! In online business, you only get paid when your business become profitable. I think this is the reason why so many people get frustrated online. They cannot differentiate "job" with "business".

First, you will need to narrow down the topic of your webpage. If you know about grant writing, start with that. Make sure your posts are educational, and duplicate them as articles on a site such as Bukisa. Make sure you do your keyword research, since this is what will bring visitors to your pages via search. Start a second site about business proposal writing and how to write business plans and do the same, and then crosslink to your grant site. All of your ideas are good, but you will want to focus each blog on a particular niche for the best results. Once you have those set up, you will need to market them heavily to get the ball roling. Good luck!

to my opinion. to make everything legitimate, i advise you to register an online service. then start to have you own website and promote your business. try to get some business from friends first to start. then slowly promote to others using some blog and facebook. then continue your work and continue market your business.
