Fact or Fiction?

Nobody can deny that the Internet allows us to live separate lives and to change ourselves into whoever we want to be - but does that mean that our internet lives our fiction and who is it that can say whether or not they are? The thing that I mean is that if to us we are this happy go lucky person online and in real life we are shy does it mean its fiction? We could be a more outgoing person online... So what do you think? What is fact or fiction when it comes to who we are and the Internet?
