Do you like mini computers or netbooks?

I bought a HP mini to try it out. I lost my laptop while travelling so I need to find new one. I am still exploring this new product and will return if I won't feel comfortable. The first problem was the keyboard's space bar. I need to press hard so that I can keep on typing. Usually 3 or more words will appear as one. I called costumer service and she said, the computer is just new and need to type more until it will be okay. So we observed for 3 days and with that the performance is getter better each. There are also some programs that I like to run but it is somewhat slow. It is just handy, light and convenient. I did not meet any problems so far. How was your experience?

I am sorry to hear about you losing your laptop. I bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop two days after Christmas. It cost me 450 dollars. It is too heavy and I really don't like the mouse pad. I mean it is completely invisible. Also when I am tryin to use it, the font on the screen sometimes instantly becomes smaller and I have to go back to zoom to fix it. But all other things are okay. I actually wanted to get a netbook, but my dad told me its internet is too slow. Also a cd drive has to be bought with it if I want to use other software. And if I buy the two together it would be the same price of a laptop. I thought that was too much of hassle. I am fine with this new one. But I won't be able to carry it to school.

Thank you Divineathena. I have also tried buying a dell laptop last year, it was 15" inspiron. After a week, I returned it because it was too heavy. I had a hard time configuring the Internet even with the technical support online. The weight really bothered me most. It was so easy to return, USP just picked it up in my apartment and after few days my money was refunded. Your dad was true about slow internet but it is not bad although I can still a difference. With regards to the CD drive, also true but there are drivers and intallers that we can download online so I am not worried about it.

I'm typing from a eeepc 1005ha ,while waiting for the class to begin :).I have no problems typing, and i don't have small hands or something =), i find the ergonomical keyboard just perfect.Other pro's to the netbook industry is the long battery life of some products, for example on my netbook a sticker says it can keep on goin' for like 10.5 Hours. It's been half a year since i got it and i can't recall having any problems with it.

Hello, I have HP mini notebook as well. at first, It was hard to use it cuz it is too small and all you can see is just a small box. Feel so stressful but when I start using it everyday then it just normal to me. I love it and very light to carry around. I have no problem with keyboard so far... just hard to watch movie sometime

Hi smile Wehave the same experienced when we had it first time and getting used to it everyday. Yeah watching movies is hard for this kind of computer. But I usually did not use my laptop for watching movies. I used a dvd player with a monitor in so I will not harm my laptop.

Just make it your goal and you can have it. And when that time comes, the prices might be lower than usual.

Yeah. I am just exploring my new hp mini and see how it works. I sometimes think or wish of having a larger screen but it might also be heavy.

I had gotten a netbook for school. I thought it would be more convenient to bring that rather than a full sized laptop. It was good for a while. Despite that it was hard to type on it I still liked it. But all of a sudden the Netbook wouldn't connect to any wireless connections. After that I never used it again. I recently gave it to my sister. Maybe she will have better luck with it.

Oh really, it might on the netbook model. I am not sure. I easily connect my hp mini to wifi. I am just complaining on about scrolling up and down often if you wanna read certain web page. I hate scrolling up and down too often. Now I am getting used to it. Will see in the future if this really works for me.

I am currently using a toshiba which seems to work just fine for me. I have never used a mini computer or netbook, but some people seem to like blackberry's for going online.

When I had my regular laptop, I was satistified with my computer's performance. Trying mini computers is like I need to be patient for scrolling up and down to read the whole messages and sometimes the loading any page is slow.

I have a regurlar laptop. I was considering buying a minni, but I couldn't afford it. Minni's are nice, but I've read they shouldn't be a subsutute for a laptop. They are minni for a reason and are designed to do the basics when you don't have access to a regular laptop or desktop conputer. Now as for typing, all keyboards take some getting used to, so don't be so discouraged. You'll get used to it.

i am currently using laptop from acer. until now, i satisfied with the performance of my laptop. there is no significant problem at all. but i have a wish to buy a netbook, because it so small i can carry it more flexible than my current laptop. the favorite brand i would like to buy now is sony netbook. i admit the price is quite settled above other netbook, but it has very good design i think, and also bundled with vista.

I am with you. I sometimes buy gadgets especially laptop because I like the product design regardless of how much it is. If I have a choice I really wait for the time until I can afford that product that I like most.
