It took a lot of last moment stamina and luck for roddick to beat stepanek in the finals of brisbane open, but he finally managed to overplay him 76,76. roddick was leading 5-2 and serving for the match with two breaks up in the second set, when stepanek leveled the set and took it to tie break with some amazing tennis. in the tie break roddick took a 6-0 lead, but stepanek fought back winning the next seven points in a row , making the american wonder what is he up to! but finally the nerves went down, and stepanek did a double fault on the match point giving a lot of relief to roddick.

I'm usually for Roddick in any match he plays since I'm from the U. S. and this was not exception. I'm not always for a player just because they are from the U. S. however. I was a big Martina Hingis fan for example and favored her in most matches especially against the Williams sisters since they always seemed to rub me the wrong way.

the dictatorship of williams sister for sucha long time has made me dislike them. but its surprising that ater them, there has not been a single player that US has produced of GS winning standards, which is quite a news, seeing the consistent US women players that we have been seeing in tennis for decades !
