What kind of job are you looking for?

I have noticed that alot of you out there are unemployed right now. I wonder how many of you are looking for a job that you have either had experience in or that you have been schooled for. Or are you branching out and thinking of this as an opportunity to learn a completely new career or perhaps find a totally different job if the opportunity arises? Which of these scenarios would give you more opportunity to find a job? Which are you going for? Any thoughts?

HI! I am looking for a translator job, because I have studied German and now I am a teacher in German, but I would like to work as a translator. I do it from time to time , but it is a temporary job, and I want it to be constantly!

So, as I asked, are you just open to that one area or are you looking for other opportunities that might be available?

i think that we should take knowledge as much as we can because in future if no one is with us our education will be there for us forever so as much i can learn and get intrest in that i will study

I have worked for 32 years in both an Engineering firm and a hospital. Mostly my title was an Adminstrative Assistant. Now I will be happy with any job that will make me happy such as helping people in some way or other. Helping others is good for my heart and soul and that is what makes me happy.

I am looking for a job that doesn't look or feel like a job, something that can make me feel like I'm just playing. I HATE 9-5 jobs, or those with routines and require a lot of sitting and standing. They're not enjoyable and rewarding. I find them a waste of time, even when you get paid for it. You get paid for being bored. I want something that will make me travel a lot. Something that has interaction with nature. Probably a wildlife photographer, a diver, or a savior of endangered species. Those are my type. Or a model or an actress maybe. A Hollywood actress (LOL, dream big). Exciting ones. I hope I get to be one of these someday.

Well I've got a full time job, but have thought about getting another part time job so as to earn more money. Not sure that I'll do that, I may just stick here. Well In any case, If I do go for another job I suppose my best bet would be stocking or cashier. Now I'm an IHA.

The kind that makes me forgot it's a job.
It doesn't matter how I find it, or what it is, as long as I enjoy it.

I indeed have work right know, and i already get this new job because i move from my previous one. I decide to move because i must find the right job that suitable with my skills and qualification. Actually this is my second job and i hope this would be my last job, because i feel happy right know.
I do see an opportunities in my new job for the long term career, it completely different from my previous job where i couldn't find an opportunity to proof my skill and increase my career. So, i choose to find a new job until i get my job right know and learn to be the best to increase my career.
So, i choose to walk my through based on my qualification background, because i had tried before work in different field but after a year i feel this is not suitable for me.

Hi there. I am actually unemployed now in other companies but I have been earning quite good amount of money from a small business. I am still looking for a very stable and decent job that can give me less stress and pressure. My dream job is actually to be a manager of a certain company, may it be my own company or others' company. Maybe you would probably think of me as a lazy person, and I guess I would agree with that. But of course even if it's tiring to work, I have no choice but to do it simply because I also need to earn money to support all my needs and wants in life. I want to get rich but I still don't know how and when. I want a job where I can do whatever I want to do, a job that can give me a big salary without working day and night. Do you think I will be able to find what I am looking for soon? Hope so. :-)

Sounds like a dream job. My question was if you would take only that job or if you would do something completely different to be able to work?

I'm always looking for something new! But I prefer finding something that I can and I love to do. I don't want to spend my life in something that I don't want to do. To be precise, I want to be PR! I'm also working on music projects - I hope they'll have success! These are the things that make me happy and possess my life.

I have more job than I want. I am looking for something that is only part time, or online, or contract labor. This previous year my job has stolen my life. I still have it to go to when medical leave is over, providing I want to do it. I would not mind learning something new, that is always fun.

Branching out. I have two teaching degrees, but they're letting teachers go now, so that isn't the way to do. Public, private, and prisons around me have either let a teacher or two go, or they're under a hiring freeze and not replacing people that retired or quit.
However, certain professions do advertize regularly for teachers like insurance companies. They like someone who can teach or explain policies to people. Sometimes sales companies like teachers if a product needs to be demonstrated, explained or taught the use of it to someone. I'm an academic teacher (K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Reading), but sometimes academics can get a job and retrained for leading aerobics, weight training or water exercies in a pool. It used to be that we could take Social Worker tests without a Social Worker degree. That was because certain things needed to be explained like programs available such as food stamps, HEAP and so on. But now they say we don't qualify for any of the Social Worker positions; we must have a degree in Social Work or experience doing Social Work. It depends on the degrees, mathemeticians and scientists usually do well as Geek Squad members or going to work for companies as accountants or researchers and later on to teach accountants and researchers. I know a health teacher who became a Sheriff's Deputy and now teaches DARE in school. English Teachers often get jobs writing books, underwriting insurances, etc. Business Law Teachers can become paralegals quite easily.

Hey celtic! I have no idea what to do! I am supposedly Disabled
according to doctors and the NYS Government, but they want me
to pay for the lowest form of Healthcare they offer and then
they want me to WORK too! I don't know what to do! I am not
really well, mentally or physically and their doctors agree,
but on the other hand they are making me pay $447 for the worst
medical insurance! I wasn't able to find a job four years ago!
What am I supposed to do now? I refuse to go back to the field
that almost cost me my sanity working as a Legal Assistant!
I would love to get a job, but who am I kidding? No one is going
to hire me at my age? There is age descrimination! I would love
to go back working in the Medical Field or something working
with people that have needs! But, who is going to hire me?

You know, there are times I want to hunt down the old school's "careers" teacher and give him a beating. Why did he not tell me the job of Sommelier existed? Or that you can make a fortune making scale models for TV? Hmm?
We were schooled for jobs in factories and shops or if you were really lucky in an office. Yeah, I think he needs that beating!
I'm a housewife and not looking for work - I have enough to do, I just don't get paid for it!

I'm not sure. It seems that my entire life, I have particularly shined in the area of writing of literature and English skills, so I guess a job related to that subject would fit me perfectly. As long as I have a job I enjoy and pays me enough to get by, I'll be happy.
