I wasn't bored very often at university, probably because I didn't go to the boring lectures, I just read on my own. When I was bored, me and my friends would write strang poems, draw (not very good drawings I'm afraid), pester the ones in front of us or do next weeks exercise. I'm afraid I can't recommend any of it, I think it is best to either pay attention or do something else :-) I started with that in my second year, you have to make sure you read regulary though, else there'll be a lot to do at once straight before your exams.

Yes, we only had to do the lab-work and hand in exercises. Normally we had to have about two thirds of the exercises, but noone ever checked if we heard the lectures. For some lecturers we knew that if we attended the last lectures before the exam, he/she would tell us nearly exactly what the exam was supposed to be about.

very much. I just hate them and there is no way for me to escape. studies can never be interesting in higher standards. I always bunk my most of the classes and at the end of the semester find ways to run from the problems like less attendance etc.
i many a times sleep in class to but that was when i was in my school, my classmates used to call me sleeeping beauty.

Yeah friend, some subjects some time i feel very boring and some times even fell in sleep due to the same frequency voice of the lecture. Other wise i use to sit as listening and would my mind be in a dream world.
Some lectures let us go out for washing face if they see we are sleeping. So some people would just act like they are sleeping to get out of the class.
We have a lecture for the subject Mechanics and he is a very good lecture but as the topic is so boring he use to talk about some interesting topics to us like cinema, cricket, in between the classes, so we all love his classes very well. I think, in many cases its not the lectures boring us,but the subject, so we can't blame them.
Good topic friend.

It depends on both the subject and the teacher. I came to college as a science major but they didn't interest me anymore so I changed to Interdisciplinary which is like having 3 minors rather than a major. Now I take science, english, and history. If the history is european I am usually fascinated but I get so bored with american history because I have had to learn it so many times. English I took just because I enjoy writing and I am good at it despite hating most of my teachers.

I text a lot, haha, probably not the best thing to do, but it keeps me awake enough to continue taking notes. Another thing I do is grab an issue of our school's daily newspaper and work on the crossword or Soduku during class. The latter two are great for staying awake, but once I start those, I end up not taking notes anymore. Guess you're going to have to choose your poison. Good luck!

Well... to prevent me from sleeping during the boring lectures, I usually draw pictures, write list of what I want to do in the future, daydream, write list of what I want to do with my boyfriend, planning a business, talk to my friends, and... just try listening to the lecture.

usualy it happen as you have not slept properly ,it also could be that you are not interestingly following the lecture which would not find interesting in you. it could be that your mind not be in the classroom or so.
