I like most any kind of dressings. I make a honey mustard dressing that is a hit w/everyone that eats it. It's also good on a fruit sald which is something i really like to.I have always loved salads.

I´ll try it, Jo! You know I love to cook. What kind of fruits do you use? I usually eat fruits as dessert and salads are lettuce, tomatoes and the like. I accept all kind of ideas.

I've never tried honey mustard dressing, but can't imagine it would taste right on a FRUIT salad... but I'll just have to take your word for that, because I'm not going to dare to try it. :)

I usually make my own dressing, no name. Just what I want to eat. I never buy a prepared dressing. The usual have olive oil, salt, pepper. Then the differences start. Some have lemon juice, some aceto balsamico. To some dressings I will add some dry oregano (from my own garden), or chives or tiny bits of hot green pepper.Other dressings will have mayo (handmade) and/or Diyon mustard. I love coarse Diyon a l´ancienne for raw zuchinni. Parmesan cheese or other kinds of cheese are part of my dressings many times.
Take care!

Those sound good, I've always thought it would be smart to make your own dressings, but have never gotten around to trying it myself.

Preparing a salad dressing is easy, unexpensive, original and you always get that childish happiness of tasting it many times until it´s just right.

When I have salads, I always prefer homemade dressings, because they're easy to make and you know what's in them, vis a vis chemicals, salt, etc. The only compromise I make is on Ranch dressing; I use the Hidden Valley packet as a base. Thousand Island is so easy to make, and there are many possible variations. Honey Mustard is great and also easy. Vinaigrettes have so many variations, from savory to sweet. I particularly like to make homemade Caesar dressing and a Parmesan vinaigrette variation. I love Blue cheese dressing and do a creamy one and a blue cheese vinaigrette.

It depends on what kind of salad, and if I am trying to be healthy :)
My favorite would be italian or honey mustard. From time to time I will do a ranch or raspberry vinaigrette. Here in St. Louis a lot of Italian places have "House" dressings, which are to die for. Usually a sweet italian dressing.

i love pretty much all type of salads except greek salad..reason salad should be a light dish..not too heavy but i find greek salad w e feta cheese and anchovies a tad too hevy for something light as salad. i would definitely go for dressings that are light eg vinigratte, italian or balsamico as compared to their heavier counterparts thousand island or buttermilk...

I used to love Ranch dressing (still eat it on occasion), but have come to love taco sauce on my salads (fat free and tasty!)
