The one you love, and the one who loves you...

I heard some people told me: If you want to fall in love, please choose the one you deeply love you; if you want to marry, please choose the one who loves you deeply...
I understand these "2 persons" are not the same in most cases, but I wonder if marrying with the above principle could be "selfish", because "I" am getting more love, while not devoting enough. (I want to marry the one "I" deeply love, but she may not want to marry me.)
So, dear Mylotters, what do you think about this "principle"? Is it good? Any idea about this issue is welcome :)

falling in love is not a choice, it is by chance... it happens in the most unexpected place and time..
marrying is not by chance, it is by choice... it happens when two people complement each other to be as 'one'..

just a question how to match these 2 persons (the one whom you love, and the one who loves you) in 2 situation, relationship & marriage. I guess mostly we can't choose, because there must be some destiny. Just curious about the situation when someone has to be hurt :P Maybe that quoted sentence is too "Chinese", so not easy to be understood.
