I think Cross site testing is to ensure that the website is not exposed to Cross site vulnerabilities.
E.g. if you have a search(edit) box that accespts HTML characters like ,% etc and the site processes these characters then the potential hacker can find out holes and take advantage of the vulnerabilities.

Welcome back Abhi after a long time.
What I understood from your response that Cross testing is part of security testing and helps to identify the security issues which can be taken care within time before hacker can take advantage of it.
Am I correct?

I think it involves checking how and whether scripts work in each browser. As you might know not every browser is capable of correctly displaying each and every script and even if they display a script it doesn't necessarily have to look and work the same.
