Do's and don'ts with credit cards

Today we all know that there are alot of people who has got even more than one credit card.mostly it causes some peoblems in budgets.My question is : what to do,what not to do with credit card or cards?

I have seen many people spending their money without control over it through credit cards. Some of them either showing off their status symbol where as some just can not rid out of their shopaholic nature. I prefer debit card over credit card which reminds me every time how much balance I have in my account and how much I am deducting from it.
One should make a budget about monetary issues monthly. It surely helps.
