What do you do for a work out?

A month and a half ago I finally joined a gym. My goal at first was just to do 2 different cardio machines, for half an hour each. The first half hour would be at a high intensity, the second half hour would be a little more moderate. Then some days I would do weights afterwards as well.
After I was able to do half an hour on 2 machines, I began trying to up the level of intensity on both machines.
Last week I lengthened my time. On the first machine I will do 45 minutes, then for the moderate work out I'd still do half an hour. I did that for about 3 or 4 days.
Then yesterday I did a full hour on the treadmill, running at various inclines, then a half hour on the stairmaster. I did not do weights as I was too pooped!!
Today I was still a bit tired from yesterday's work out, so I went back to half an hour on 2 machines.. but I will continue to work towards running for an hour, then half an hour of something else!
What do your work outs consist of? Have they gotten more intense since you started, or do you try to go longer? Do you push yourself to keep doing better, or are you content with what you're doing?

My working out kind of fizzled out. I lost my motivation. I was working out on my wii fit. I managed to get in an hour of it a day. I can't afford a gym. Even if I could, I don't think I would feel comfortable going. I would be too self conscious and feel like everyone was watching me. I probably would do it if I had a friend to go with me. I want to get back to working out though and make it a habit. I'll just have to do stuff around here like climbing the stairs over and over lol.

I kind of go off and on with my Wii Fit. I know they have more games now, but I'm too cheap. The balance exercises are great for strengthening my ankles though. Once or twice a month I go through some of the games I like and some yoga. But I just do that if I'm bored of other things like the exercise bike.

That's too bad that you lost your motivation.. it probably wasn't fun enough. I know I haven't played my Wii Fit in over a week, it's just too boring for me, plus I've been pretty tired lately. I'm so tired that yesterday and today I didn't even really push myself at the gym, just an hour each day. I need to get my energy back quick!

Well, when I used to work out, I had a few things that I did with weights that a physical therapist showed me, I swam and I did a minimum of 20 minutes of cardio, either treadmill or stairmaster usually. Second time around, I discovered the elliptical machine. That was my favorite and I got up to 45 minutes. If an elliptical wasn't available, I'd do treadmill or occasionally bike. That gym didn't have a pool, but I took yoga there twice a week. Nowadays my 'workout' consists of daily stretching and a daily walk, a minimum of 20 minutes. I don't push myself much any more.

I do the elliptical most days as well, but it is usually my "moderate" exercise. No matter how fast I go on the thing, I can't keep my heart rate above 130. That's why I'll do the treadmill or stairmaster first, those can keep my heart rate above 150.

Well running after my one year old should count, lol. However not as much as I thought. I have a treadmill. I use that, and I just got a trampoline with a bar. And a glider rider as well. So I suppose I have a mini gym in my basement. I turn on the tv and exercise to that.

You could start with a work out DVD, those are cheaper than exercise machines. Plus you'll get bored of the machine pretty quick. That's why at the gym I use different machines everyday so I don't tire of the same ones.

I'm just starting to learn all the good exercises for me, so I'm starting out slow. Currently my routine is five days a week, and I do the following:
Stretch for ten minutes. Slow, steady stretches help me not feel so tired after my workout. Plus I'm becoming a tad more limber. =]
After that I do as many 'girl' push ups that I can. My goal is to gain some muscles in my arms, so that they aren't quite as flabby. Plus muscle eats fat, and I need that! When I first started I couldn't even do one full 'girl' push up. Now I can do close to 20 [currently 20 is my goal, I'm at 17!]
After that I pop in my ten minute workout dvd. It has 5 ten minute workouts, and I usually do two to three every time - they involve using a resistance band, and dancing. I love it!
Then I stretch for a few more minutes, and I'm done! =] For me, slow and steady wins the race. I learned that the hard way. Now if I could just get the motivation to actually do them every day!

I did the same thing before I joined the gym. I had Jillian Michaels DVDs.. some were half hour, some were 45 min, some were full hour. It was hard to do the full hour. On her DVD's she started with a warm up and ended with a cool down, so it was all incorporated. She also did lots of strength training along with cardio moves. I have not done one of those DVDs since joining the gym. What I'm doing at the gym gets my heart rate up a lot faster, and keeps it up a lot longer. Although on Tuesdays I do take a cardio class at the gym, and that is pretty similar to the DVDs.

Well normally would be to go and jog out 6 miles and then do pull ups on a tube, i know it sounds hard but then once you get used to it it really isn't. remember people it's not always just working out but knowing what to eat at the same time so don't think just because you have a six pack that you're going to keep it.

I am always pushing myself harder it seems.
Now I run 4+ hours per week (broken up in 4 running days, with some short runs and one long run... last long run was over 2 hours).
I also usually ride the exercise bike about an hour per week. I increase the intensity every time now. Mine is an evil generator powered thing so even the lowest intensity is pretty hard because you must always maintain 20mph speed. But it's great training for bike races. I hope to be in shape for a 100 mile ride in June (that one isn't a race, I want to just get a feel for the distance first).
And then I do some weight lifting as well, but not much.
When it gets warmer I'll add in swimming to the routine.

I normally split the way that I workout throughout the day into two one hour segments throughout the day. I am able to do it this way because I don't have a membership at the gym and instead do all of my workouts at home. I use a lot of exercise videos and I also use three of the Wii workout games (Wii Fit, Fitness Ultimatum 2009 and The Biggest Loser video game). Oh, and I mix it up a few times a week by using my stationary bike.

Its been a while since i went to the gym but when i do i like to work myself to the limit and get my moneys worth :P
Usually start on treadmill or cross trainer to warm up, then onto rowing machine do a couple of kilometers. Then onto the upper body stuff for ages then finish on treadmill again. Or whatever takes my fancy to be honest :)
