What should I do with my old cell phone?

I recently got a new phone and just transferred my current service plan to it from my old phone. I still have another older phone from a previous plan in my closet. Both of my old phones are in nearly perfect (gently used) condition; but they are pretty basic phones, I mean they don't have that fancy of features.
I have seen places where you can "recycle" your cell phones, but I don't really know what that means. w

You could join swagbucks. They give you points for sending them old cellphones. Those points can be redeemed for cash. So you could make about $10 for it. Do some research on the site. I have a referral link in my blog, if you want to check it out on my profile.

Wow, I didn't know that you can sell your old cellphone to swagbucks too. I just thought you just keep on searching on that website, then you can redeem those points to buy something on its network. Interesting to know; thanks!

I don't sell my old phone when i have a new one because i feel that my old phone become close to me also so i don't wanna lose them, i just keep them on my repository and sometimes i also buy extra Sim Card so i am still able to use them or when the time comes that my new phone get a damage or become hard to use i use my old phone again before i buy a new one.

When I gota new phone I sold my old phone on ebay. You won't get much for it but you could get some money in return. When I switched to even a newer phone I just kept the old phone as back up. So it is your choice what you want to do with your cell phone.

I still have my own cell phone here with me currently. I have my second ever cellphone from way back when I was in high school. There are some old phones that may not cost much anymore so it would be best to keep it. The best thing you can do olisaur is check the market on how much others sell there phone same as your old phone then you can see if it is worth just keeping or selling.

Try to make whatever money out of it you possibly can. Just browse the web and find out what the best offer is for your old mobile phone. Just watch out though, because some mobile-recycling schemes are utter rip-offs and will gve you absolute tuppence for a decent mobile.

Treasure it, specially if it came from your special someone. Or keep it, incase your new cellphone accidentally broke.

I send my old phones to the battered womens shelter in my area. You will need to make sure that you have removed any personal contact information before dropping them off and then they can have them set up for emergency calling. This means they give them to the residents at their facility and they can use the phone to call 911 in the event of an emergency. That is the only phone number that can be called from that phone once it has been set that way.

Hi! i would like to ask my friends if they want that mobile or may be i would have kept two with two different service providers and using their prepaid services which suits me for any purpose. You can also sell your mobile on ebay by bidding or ask if your relatives want the mobile may be someone of thinking to buy one just for simple purpose like calling only...
I think such mobile can be used by person of more age which don't have much functions so you can ask them

I sold my old cell phone to the mobile phone dealer and purchased by paying more, a new cell phone. This way I have saved some money in buying a new cell phone. In your case, since you have already purchased new one, ask the mobile dealer, whether he will take that for some money and provide currency to that extent to the new phone connection.

You can gain maximum benefit by donating your phone to some poor or needy person. Since doing some social work will give you satisfaction that money cant buy..Although your phone doesn't have any fancy features it will be still beneficial for a person living without a cell phone.. So all the best.. Do some good work..

Yes, you can sell it to who may need it through internet. My old cell phones are in my colset as well. Cause they're almost used out. Maybe I can sell to some cell vendor or recycler some day.

Hi olisaur, when I get a new cell phone to take place my old one, I'd like to give it to my relatives to use if them need one. If no one needs it, I would see it to the second electricity market, as you know there are a lot of second electricity market in my city, I believe they can take it well.
