Hey guys, well, we all know that everything is in the internet...so that includes diaries, or online, its more known as a blog.
So quick question..do any of you guys still do it the old way and keep a diary? Which do you much prefer, an online blog? or a diary?
As for me, I still do keep a diary. Well, I try to. lol. But I don't really get to write on it everyday. How bout you guys?

I used to have a diary, but I don't keep one anymore. I had one for a number of years in my early teens, but one day, when I was about 13 or 14, I just stopped writing in it. And I haven't had one since. I don't know why I stopped. I just didn't want to write in a diary anymore, for one reason or another.

For the first time in years I started to keep a journal this year, something which I have to remind myself to fill in each day. I generally put down what I've done and any bits of info which have come to my notice which have interested me, along with inpsirational quotes.
I actually brought a moleskine notepad to use as my journal as there is something quite therapeutic for me sitting there and actually writing down my thoughts rather than typing them, especially as I am at a keyboard all day and so it makes it sort of special to do.

Hello there.
Ah.. diaries and blogs.. They are simple things but I can't understand what makes people ever write them. Seriously.. Don't flame me for that, but writing a diary looks like a person talking to himself. Or something like an imaginary friend O.o basically it's the same. Well, blogs are different story as other people can read them aswell. But then, again, it looks like going to church and telling your deeds to someone. Probably it's my personality type guilty for this: I keep things in my mind and everything I do goes through perspective of logic. If it seems illogical to me, I won't do it. Thats even the reason why I will never be religious. Yet I understand that for some people, things like that can help to cope with many difficulties of life.
Mindaugas.

Hey, pal, I don't thing writing in diary is just like having a imaginary friend. It depends on how you look on the diary. As I described some posts bellow, diary is the best way to keep your memories alive. To collect them in archive. Time will pass and you'll forget lots of things. Then someday you will find your diary and you'll read about your experience. You'll see what you were years before! In diaries you're just describing your life. I see you're playing on guitar, that's good! So if you write about your experience on the guitar now, about all your problems and success, after years it will be very interesting to read what was your way of thinking and seeing things before.

I do not still keep a diary but I do post to an online blog constantly..I think it is much nicer to post whatyou think and then instantly have someone tell you what they feel about the subject. But although I love blogging I think that it is getting old with my age...hopefully they come out with something better. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hi donsky. I don't keep a regular diary anymore, but I do have a blog. I'm terrible about updating it though, just like the diaries I had when I was younger. Looks like some things never change! LOL
If it wasn't for trying to earn a little extra online, I probably wouldn't keep one at all!
Happy mylotting!

Hi Donsky,
Yes, you are right. Right now, everything is done online, blog, QQ zone, your own website, you can not only wirte your diary, most importantly, you can share with friends, and let them know how you were doing these days.
But i still liket he old diary stuff, coz that's only for you, you are the only listener, nowadays, people are too busy to care themselves anymore, so i think keeping a diary by wirting might be a good way to keep great momories.

that's what i'm doing everyday. sometimes because i'm very busy, i'll still catch up the next day or later. i have the habit for many years. but i seldom read what i've read, just keep it away. sometimes, i also think what meaning it has i keep it everyday? for reading when i'm old, now only such one idea.
well, i'm also thinking maybe someday, i'll use daily blog to instead of it.

I still keep my things from way way back. They make me remember a particular moment, whether it's sad or happy memories and i can't help but smile.
My diary is my life.

Hi donsky14, now it's difficult to keep a paper diary, most of my time focus on computer and internet, so it's easy to keep a diary on internet. For me, I have a little confuse that paper diary could keep longer than hard disk, so I still keep paper diary intermittently.

Yes, but I have a selfish thinking, just some day after I die some one have chance to read my diary, who keeps a memory about the life and thinking about me, that's my best pleasure.

I have kept a diary since I was 11 years old and am currently blogging them. I am now 43 so it's gonna take me a while. I still write in a page a day diary every day as it's a habit I cannot break. It makes no difference if my life is boring or if nothing exciting is happening, I just HAVE to write in it, no matter what!

I have a diary that I write in when the mood strikes. I prefer it over a blog, because I cannot take my computer with me everywhere but I can take my diary anywhere. I like to put random things in my diary I would like to remember when I get older, dreams, or just random thoughts I have at the moment.

I actually just started one. Ive tried in the past but ended up throwing them away. I saw a journal to buy at Barnes and Noble and decided to try again. I make my journal my own brain so along with my thoughts I write my weekly tasks i need to complete. I really think it will be interesting to go back years from now and see a younger me preserved in a book.

Every once in a while I get out a journal and write, not on a regular basis.
I just get the bug to sit down and write instead of type and I don't feel satisfied until I write and finish something. (daily journal or diary, poetry or a story) I guess it's just one of those things that I did so much as a kid that it is more of a stress reliever now instead of it being a chore!!
* Last time I wrote in a journal, I was by the ocean with absolutely nothing else to do and I wrote TONS!!*

Hi, donsky14. No. I don't have a diary that I now keep. When I was a teenager, I kept an diary to write down my daily thoughts. But as I have gotten older, I no longer need this. I don't write down my private and secretive thoughts. I will just keep them hidden in my mind. I would rather keep an diary than have a blog.

I love to write in my diary. I have had one since I turned 12 and have written in it almost every day since I first got one, and now I am 27 so that is a looooong time. I personally love writing in it because it gives me a way to express my deepest thoughts without having to share them with someone else. I have also found that I work out problems better if I write about them in my diary first. I know it might sound strange but in a way I consider my diary one of my best friends. I can write about anything I want and not be made to feel like my thoughts and feelings are silly. I also use my diary to vent when I am very angry and do not want to bother my husband with too many issues. I think that it is very healthy to keep a diary because it is a way to express yourself, to vent and to just be you. Keep writing and never stop. Happy Mylotting.
