No not me but a kitty here in the neighborhood. today I started outside and just before i opened the glass door to the back porch, I saw Coco standing really stil, starring down a kitty cat It was right up on our patio next to the potted plants. closest its ever came. but as soon as i slid the door open it ran and climbed up that wall like spider man!!LOL! coco went after it and just whined for it to come play. she always does that when it visits, but usually it walks around on top the wall teasing her. since she dont bark at it i think she would enjoy being friendly. not sure if it would scratch her though. last year it came around, and was silent. this year it has a bell on so i know it belongs to someone. But this is when i wonder how some people just seem to get the best pictures. what do they go around with a camera ready to flash the second somethings happening? by the time i go get my camera this is what you see. im going to load a pic here of our wall (of course empty now) so you can see the seven foot wall that little bugger scaled in 2 seconds. LOL! so, anyway, dont you wonder how some people just have that cam ready? and you always miss it. the cat was even gone by the time I got back.

I do not know how that works out with the camera for some people. I know quite a bit about the mechanics of photography and camera operation. My wife knows nothing about either. Guess which one of us gets the great pictures. I adjust f-stops, change lenses, set the shutter speed where I think it it will come out best. She points and shoots. And catches the real beauty of whatever it is. Mine are just photos. Some of hers are art.

Hi bunnybon7,
I have two cats and they bot seem to scale walls and trees, not so much trees these days as they are getting old and rather just sit on the porch, we don't get any dogs around here as it seems to be just cats in this area. Clever cat, lol!

i actually do know a few people who have a camera on them at all times.
my bro works for a newspaper and he usually does.just image collectors i guess.
my cats always seem to know when i'm way away from the camera, and choose that opportunity to do something cute or funny.

Cats are much more limber than we are. A seven foot wall is nothing for most cats. You have heard of cat burglers. The ones that get to places that seem impossible. That is where they got the name. Alot of people have tri-pods and have it all set up and ready to go so when the opportunity presents itself things are set and ready to go. And then there is always Murphy's law that says it just may not be meant to be.

no it doesnt let her get close enough but that may be a good thing if its got claws like that. it teases her walking around on top the wall tho.

I think people get those good shots because they carry their cell phones with them and use the cameras that the phones have.
Cats never cease to amaze me. Do you know how much strength that cat would need in its claws, paws and legs in order to climb that wall? What wonders the human and animal bodies are!

hi bunnybon lol yes I do indeed. I was never good at getting'
those cAndid shots that made everyone feel in Awe. Mine were'usually just after the cat or dog hAd left the scene
so there was nothing there to get excited over. they must
have everything on hAnd and just waiting for the right moment
to shoot. I do so envy them, wish I could do that. lol.

I think some people just have patience and they sit and wait for shots. I know the kids will call me to come quickly with the camera because one of the cats is in a cute pose or something, and I am very lucky to make it there in time to get the shot. Even with sunsets by the time I run into the house and back out with the camera, it's changed.

Love your avatar, Coco looks so cute! She must enjoy looking out her wall-sized tv to see cats climbing walls, maybe a bird or two...lol.
Getting a candid shot of the cat climbing the wall won't be easy. From watching my neighbor's cats, they tend to check out their individual 'interest' spots daily, just never at the same times. Is your computer in the same room where the patio door is? If so, maybe leave it handy and ready to shoot. If there's something in the yard to draw the cat's interest (like a bird feeder) it will be back more often than if it was just being nosy.
Tukay loves chasing our neighbor's cats, it's her main exercise. It's all a game and the cats seem to know it, too. Quite frequently after Tukay chases one out of our yard, when she's walking back the cat will be following along behind. On a good day, we can get 3 or 4 chases out of one encounter. I have cat mint growing in my garden, so the cats tend to come over frequently. Of course, my camera isn't handy either at times like that...

i love tukay. that is so funny. i can just see it in my mind. my avatar is when coco could still fit into her coat. now shes to fat she got more excersise when the other little dog was here. so i really wish the kitty would visit more. my son walks her a little every 2 or 3 days but its just not enough.

Plant some catmint, works like a charm. All the neighborhood cats come over to roll in it. Tukay always has something to chase. Then, of course she expects a 'treat' when she gets into the house. I tried giving her lettuce once. Got one of those, "You gotta be kidding, where's the FOOD" looks...

I would absolutely love to be one of those people that always had my camera at the ready, but it hasn't been able to happen for me yet. My goal this year has been to take a picture of one thing that happens in my life each day throughout the year so that I will grow to know my camera a lot more and I will never miss the little things that I want to get a picture of in my life. So far, I still keep forgetting to take my camera with me when I leave the house so I am still missing things that I really didn't want to miss.
