is global warming concept is true ?

I watched a television show recently about the theory that global warming is untrue. I found it interesting; however, I wasn't convinced with that argument. For one thing, the most respected scientists believe in global warming. I heard someone, could have been Al Gore, ask the question of a critic--What if you're wrong....and we did nothing about it?

ok fine you think that it is just a hypothetical concept... ok we will do some simple observations.. the green house gases are said to effest the ozone layer near poles.. means tht the amount of heat that is getting trapped there ie more, and when the heat increases the ice melts... ok we dont have the data before thousand years but no need for that just observe the last centuary.. or even last 4 decades are also enough.. But there other way of looking it around.. there is one more concept of earth heating itself and going into different ages like ice age and again the formation of species bla bla... and is seems we on the peak of the curve of temperature rise.. so check out u can read more into this.. actually it is interesting topic..:)

For me whether its true or not, it is all our obligation to take care for our mother earth. Let us not wait for the time that our children will not experience anymore the beauty of our natural resources. In our little ways we can create a better place to live with, free from pollution, destructions and many form of environmental violence.

Hi codeofuniverse. You bring out a good point here that we just don't know with accuracy what when on over the last 1000 years. Again I would like to tell the myLot readers when I was in high school (late 1960's) were were told to expect an ice age around 2015. I would sooner believe that with our current cold weather in the northeast and mid-Atlantic USA.

Well it looks like global warming is real thing. In my country it's winter time now. But there is nothing that shows it's winter. It's spring time here! And it was the same the last years. Now it's a true record! I don't remember such thing. But my grandparents say that this is not the first time. The remember that before many years ago the same situation happened. It makes me thing that the global warming concept is not that true. Who knows? Time will show us.

I have wathced TV discussions about this topic. And I could say scientist themselves dont know what exactly happens on earth. Some are sure that global warming is due to the human activities but others claim that our planet is going through a period of warming and many years ago temperatures were even higher than nowadays.

Many people are very skeptical regarding this subject, but it is a true thing that is happening. There are however several temperature signatures from past years-thus I mean not 1000 years ago! The earth goes through a certain cycle every X years, and now we have a stronger solar flare activity, the whole fumes are eating the ozone layer. In return we are having melted ice poles, increased flooding and other "natural disasters" We will all be surprised if we see snow in the summer... So to answer your question yes it is true.

it is absolutely true , friend. nowadays, even simple task like sleeping become a difficult thing in life without air conditional because it is too hot. to the contrary, air conditional will emit green house gases and CFC which directly contribute to global warming. HELP~~~~

Well you can actually ignore the fact that human do the open burnings, lots of smokes from motorist and manufacturers around the world..Maybe the increasing temperature is just natural, but what if all the human activities makes it happen even faster than it should be..the ice in the artic is melting and its pretty scary.

I think no matter what is the correct words for describing such situation, the fact is our earth is getting warmer and warmer. Many ice cubes on the poles area are melting and such condition really making our land areas decreasing, and also many ecosystems have changed rapidly by this warming. I think we should make any real action, not only discussing and discussing again and again about this problem. Our governments seem still waiting without any action. I think it all depends on where you live.I don't believe in global warming,but anyways ,IT's FREEZING here where I live,feels more like an ice age.This unusually cold for winter time.Everyone thinks different about it,I just think it depends where you are at.Every part of the world has a different temperature.

I personally do not believe in the concept of global warming. Where I live the temperature is so cold right now, I would not mind some global warming at all!.

Wow dude you are way to late man. this has been an issue since 2006 everywhere dude, i mean haven't you noticed something strange ? hotter summers ! longer winters ! it's just getting worse and worse for us, we really need to come up with a serious plan if you know what i mean. No i don't mean just don't keep telling everyone that they should recycle more because up this point it has helped us but at the same time it really hasn't so i mean the time is now and we need to do something about this serious issue. i mean common we have to stop ignoring this problem now !

Considering all the corporations that have invested money to make millions and the politicians trying to shove it down other countries throats at the U.N. and the mixed views by scientists, I'm going along with the Global Warming is a Scam right now until I'm sure.

I believe that the concept of global warming could be correct, but I don't think that accurate records have been kept for a long enough period of time to determine if this is actually what is happening in this world today. What I actually believe is happening is that there are cycles in the weather and that the last several years have been a period where we've gone through a hot cycle and possibly in the next several years to come, we will also go through a cycle where the temperatures are cooler than what we are accustommed to.

But we must face the fact that the pollution and nature damage have been increased in earth are alonging with the ecnomic development.I think human are distoring ourself for the short term benfit,the worming global just one effect,we can't ignore the signal and we must do something to save ourself!!

Well my opinion is Global warming is true... I dont think your basement is true to argue with this fact. Cause People say global warming is happening because there are some holes seems to be appeared in Oson layer due to so called poluted air. So becaue of that Sun's raves coming directly to earth which is dangerous fact and it is unfortunetely coming to these ice mounted areas. Such as Noth pole countries,.. So this is why they started melting and now there is an issue related. So this issue seems to be calling global warming.
