So in this "day and age" most of us have computers with internet access at work. Some have sites like myspace, facebook and ebay blocked... and some don't. How much of your work day do you think you spend actually doing work... and how much do you spend browsing? Whether its checking the weather, checking email, reading the news, looking at the new arrivals at old navy, mylotting? Anything?
For me it depends mostly on the season... we're a contractor supply company so obviously I have more work to do in the spring and summer when all the roads are being worked on, houses being built, waterlines being run, etc. But in these winter months... I'd seriously doubt if I put in more than 2 or 3 actual working hours in... the rest are spent on here or facebook or something of that nature.
I do have an advantage on part of that - I work for my mother in law... and 1/2 of the time I jump online is because she says "lets look for this" or "i wonder...." or something of that nature.
But I was curious... how much of your day are you actually working and how much are you internet browsing?

I browse during the down times at work, or when I just need a break. sometimes it can get very intense and tiring, and then i need to go onine to surf around just to restore balance to my system.
it varies from day to day. sometimes i could spend 10 mins of every hour surfing, sometimes I could spend just one half hour solid surfing a day. other times, where there is absolutely nothing to do and i have to keep my mind alive or risk going mad, I could surf or mylot for hours on end.

Maybe a few months ago, I would spend about 2 hours of every working day surfing the net at work. They also block social networking sites, so of this 2 hours I just read news, read my personal emails, or apply for jobs. My current job is also sort of reactive. I only get busy when there are problems on the floor. If everything is running smooth, I get bored.
After I discovered my lot, the boring times within the work day has been filled with responding-to-discussions time. And my browsing has significantly increased!
