strangers...

hi hiswifey I have been there too. I worked for many years in the tustin library and was friends with all the staff, I'mean we were all really good friends. Okay so comes the day I have to retire. they throw a lovely retirement party and everyone donates a part gift of money. we will keep in touch and so on and on. Since that time the only contact I had with any of them was a chance meeting in Larwin Square. throw their arms around me, how are you, we must keep in touch. Okay wait for letter or phone call, nothing nada. NOw I am in a different town,but they all met me at the dedication ceremony to the new Tustin library. arms around me, oh well have to keep in touch, yakety yak, okay that was two months ago. No phone calls, not visits, out of sight out of mind, strangers in the night sort of thing. I realize everyone has his or her family now and thats a given, but once close friends, should not just one person phone and ask how are you?"
