For the girls... Do you know how to maintain your car?

I never used to think about air for the tyres, topping up the oil, adding water for the radiator and everything else involved in the upkeep of a car. That was until the day I ran out of brake fluid and consequently lost the use of my brakes. I can now proudly say I can do all of the above and know I'm doing the utmost to keep my car safe. I reckon I could even change a tyre if I had to. Are there other gals out there who also feel confident with maintaining their vehicle?

Yes, I do.. That was on of the first things my MOTHER taught me when I got a car. We even changed a Radiator out of my car together. SHE changed all her own plugs and wires etc.. Just because you are female doesn't mean you should be ignorant of your vehicle maintenance...

When I was growing up my dad made me learn how to maintain my car. He told me that if I didn't learn how to do minor maintenance then I didn't need to drive. I have changed tires, checked the oil, brake, antifreeze and power stearing fluids, andmade sure my tires were properly inflated since I was 16. My husband has had me help him change brakes and spark plugs in our vechiles also. The more you know about your car the less likely you are to ge taken by a bad mechanic.
