Not all teachers can teach. Other teachers may have the proper certificate or education to teach but they are not good in delivering a lesson. People may be educated for such skill but not all can really be so natural in doing it. Teachers must have a natural ability to teach and that is not something that can be taught. Some can be developed through experience. There are skills necessary for teaching that of what a person is born with, and not all people are natural teachers. There are many effective or experts in teaching. We look up to them and we learn from them. What I want to know is "Are teachers really born with the gift to teach or we can develop this skill? " Please share you opinion or theories about my question. Thanks! Happy mylotting!

It is possible for any intelligent person to go to university and get a degree. To pass teacher training there are assessments of teaching and the standards are demanding. I think that a teacher is born rather than made. A good teacher needs to teach in an enjoyable and meaningful way. I am a primary school teacher and know each child can achieve his or her potential.

You are right! Being a teacher doesn't only need the degree but have the inner character to understand the children. Thnk you for sharing your opinion. =)

Yeah, I agree. Not all teachers do a very good job teaching. Just because you have a certificate doesn't mean you have a knack for teaching. Teaching takes heart and desire. Not many people can do that. Personally, I believe teachers are born. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

i think that teachers are born not made as the qualities needed such as patience can't be taught they are traits you either have or you don't have.

Some are born teachers but most are not. Why they are there is mainly for their daily bread, perhaps they find that easier than other professions. Easy because there are so many tools outside of schools that students make use of making a teacher's role almost redundant. But those who love teaching are a frustrated lot as most students do not pay attention to them as they resort to tuitions and other aids.

Well, I have worked as a teacher even without the proper certificate, and I don't think that I have done it bad. Of course I'm not the best teacher, and by no ways I think I was born to be a teacher, but I think that experience has taught me a lot of tricks to make people understand what you explain. Of course there are always "lost cases", not everyone is able to learn to teach.

No one is born teacher like no one is born criminal. Yes everyone can't become a teacher even and everyone don't have teaching skills. Some can explain the subjects well but some just take it as burden just because they have to earn from it not thinking it a noble work which gives knowledge. Teaching is such a noble profession as you are making life of people teaching them various values and useful things which will help them in life.

I feel the skill of imparting knowledge to others is developed and is an urge which comes from within one's mind from childhood. Many children are seen to say that they want to become a "Teacher" when they grow up. Not all children and teachers become a-Perfect Teacher, only the will to exchange their knowledge in the most appropriate way with others makes them a Good Teacher.

In my opinion, I think that anybody can be made into a teacher when given enough time and training, but only the best teachers were born with such skills. There are a number of factors required to be a good teacher, and they can only be developed naturally, not forced, just like any other job I suppose.

I believe that being a teacher entails so much more than intelligence, but patience, and the ability to articulate or explain according to the students' level of comprehension. Teachers are born with these qualities. However, there are also some teachers who are made out of their experience. It is where they pick up the ability to share their knowledge.

That is why it is not easy to be a teacher. Taking four years degree in college other got it in almost 10 years before graduating. Count the number of time when a teacher will take some reviews for the stardardized tests for her license, many got it after 5 years or more. Plus the time for job hunting. Those who are successful teachers have the ability and capability to teach. All others were eliminated. Then even if she is already teaching, she might find the job not fitted to her and resigned and or changed jobs. The real teachers are in the school now. The longer the experience the better. But with infornation age, teacher's knowledge are now obsolete but the government are doing and effort to upgrade the quality of education by giving trainings to teachers in integrating technology in the classroom.

Some people are in born talented. they understand how to put things in front of the people so that subject can be easily digested. in that way teachers are born. But as we say Practice make man perfect'; some people try hard to learn art of teaching and then they also become good teachers.

Both are true. Some teachers got their teaching gift from inborn power. Which persons don't get the power from God, he can develop it with hard working. Everyone can get his expectation fulfilled, if he want it from his inner mind with actual wish, which gives him self-belief and encourage to hard work to success to his goal.

I really agree with you. To be honest I am in my senior year in High School and I have wanted to be a teacher for awhile. I am told by teachers that I have a good attitude With it. I am now tutoring kids in my school and help the special ed teachers during study halls. I think that maybe there should be a little bit more training, but besides that I think that teachers are BORN NOR MADE...THERE BROUGHT UP.

I believe a lot of us can develop these skills and it isn't the teaching skill we are born with but the patience and will to want to teach.. Everyone doesn't have the patience to be a teacher and some of us have a natural knack for being "teachers." Maybe they are good with children or just can relate well with others in general. Quite possibly some of the traits one is born with make them more suited for the teaching profession. It all depends on the individual though I suppose as well. Interesting post..

HI! I am a teacher in German and I can easily say, that some of us(teachers) are born to be teachers and the others are made so. Me, for example, is a made teacher. I even didn't want to be a teacher, but when my practice began I liked it and so I became as one. But I don't feel such happy with this work, I wan tto work something in the tourism or in the translating branche. So that's why I am saying , I am a made teacher

Teacher's are born. I mean, you could go through all of the training possible and still have no clue how to handle students. Teachers are much more. I think the best teacher's I have had, had a gift for teaching. They were just born to do this. It was not a job to them. It was something that they enjoyed doing and something that I did well. Skills can only be developed so far.
