ok so last night I made popcorn rice for the first time in years, I was wondering why I hadn't made it in so long and then it hit me BAM! I used to be addicted to the taste and had eaten it almost everyday for the whole summer, and then wondered why I gained so much weight. well last night my daughter came up with the bright idea to add corn to it and now I'm feeling an addiction coming back lol. all popcorn rice is, is white rice made with extra salt and butter thus given the taste of popcorn. I'm thinking about making this again with brown rice because of it's health quality and nutty flavor. so what do you think mylot?

This is a very interesting new food! I have never tried it that way, nor have I heard of it! I am going to have to try it because I always have a bunch of rice in the cupboards! You must live in a different part of the country! I have also heard people deep frying corn on the cob!

Oh! I've never tried this. But I'm addicted to popcorn (especially movie popcorn, but I'll settle for pretty much any kind you've got lol), and I've never tried this. Is there a specific recipe that you have so I could try it out sometime? Carbs + butter always seems like a delicious combination in my eyes.

1.) Thanks for the response, 2.) lol on the carbs+butter ;) 3.) Let's get cooking!!!1
Ok there are 2 versions to this cooked and "uncooked" although they'll both be cooked.
alright recipe #1 is to cook (popcorn rice - is sold at gourmet stores) or use short grain rice and just add salt and butter. viola!
ok recipe #2 is to heat up a pot with vegetable oil and a little butter add uncooked rice and stir frequently until you see the rice popping like pop corn. there are endless various flavors you can add to the popped rice just as you would popcorn!
hope this helps! ;)
