I've watched it for the last 3 years and don't know if I'm going to watch it this year. It's the same thing year after year isn't it? Then you never hear anything about the winner once it's over.
I have to say I enjoy the banter between the judges and watching the very beginning where people get voted in or out. Some of the people who show up should have their own tv shows their so ridiculous.
Will you be watching American Idol this year? Why or why not?

I don't really feel much like watching the auditions, but I would like to watch the show and see how Ellen DeGeneres does as a judge. With Simon leaving, I think she could either make or break the show going forward.

I'm a big Ellen fan and can't wait to see how she is on it. I'm willing to bet she's a riot. Good riddance to Simon as far as I'm concerned.

I like Ellen too, but I also like Simon. Sometimes he's a bit harsh, but he's usually pretty right on about whether somebody's good or not.

Hubby and I are going to watch it but only the first auditions before Hollywood week. They are good for a laugh or two. Depending on how that goes we'll see if we continue to watch. I'm going to miss Paula and Simon's antics:( I am going to tape it though because I don't want to miss NCIS, NCIS:LA and The Biggest Loser. We are just not as interested as we were the first few seasons especially when they changed how they pick the top 24.
Sincerely in Christ,
Leesa C.

I feel the same way...the first auditions make it worth watching. Although I'm happy that Simon is leaving I will also miss his antics with Paula.

Definitely! I only really got into AI last year and I watched every episode and voted and just loved it. I loved Kris from about week 5 and I couldn't be happier that he won and how great his CD is. I hear things about Kris and Kelly Clarkson all the time. The winners you dont hear about are the ones who dont really care for it in the end. I truly hope Kris keeps it up because his debut CD was very good.

My daughters are hooked on American Idol. The wannabe singers are innately talented. The music is great and the performances and programme are well laid out. AI is good entertainment. Ellen de Generes is a serious judge.

The fun part of this reality show like American Idol is the audition. Some are really horible and they can not take critic, some are really great but wierd, some are just okay but so sweet that the judges let them through. That is the fun part to watch. But as they trasfer the auditions to Hollywood already it becomes serious and serious that they need to show of their talents to impress the voters.

Hi,everyone,I'm new here.I am a Chinese girl who likes watching American Idol.AI is one of my favourate TV Shows. But we only can watch it in term of vedios on some websites, and those videos are upload by some cyber guys/girls who like watching American Idol.Everytime,we need to wait for vedio update so that we can watch the wonderful show.Maybe I missed many episodes in last seasons.Of course,I also like watching that simiral TV show held everyone in China and would like to introduce it to you if you are interested.=)But here what I want to say is,American Idol showed a lot of difference and wonderful performance to us.I like it and will keep eyes on it this year.

I wont be watching American Idol, but I sure will be watching Australua Idol. I have always enjoyed seeing the contestants auditioning, as some of them are so ridiculous.
When it gets to the serious singing, I have found some are excellent.
I also like watching the judges carry on, although two of our judges were kicked off the show for going overboard.

I surely will. I've started watching the auditions and hopefully I won't miss any episodes in the future especially on the contest proper. I find it still entertaining. I'm just a bit disappointed since Paula is no longer a judge, lots of people will definitely miss her on the idol.

Yes that is very true it is exactlly the same every year.
And we never do here how the winners are doing or how they made it.
There should be a American Idol Winner reunion or something so we can here how they are doing.

I enjoy watching American Idol. So, I will definitely watch it this year. Since there is a change of judge and that I am definitely awaiting on. Besides there aren't any programs that I watch on a regular basis.

My interest on AI has since waned after they coughed up winners who I don't think are deserving. Anybody remember the soul patrol? I must admit though the early episodes are a bit funny. The ones who have absolutely no talent, but just want their 15 minutes(or 15 seconds) of fame.
Also, I'd be curious on how Ellen would be as a judge.

yes i would for the same reasons..to be entertained. auditions - as you said, sometimes are really ridiculous and rarely do i laugh seeing people without inhibitions and trying to do almost everything imaginable just to arouse curiosity or interest from the judges.... eliminations - overwhelmed with renditions and time to pick or choose who really made me feel good when i hear his or her song.
