My husband and I fight over this all the time. I turn it up he turns it down! He would like it to be 60-64 in the house (way to cold) I'd like 68-72. I just got up and checked and right now its set at 68 (i won today i guess) What temp do you like? Does money play a role in your decision?

I am glad that I do not need to worry about thermostat in my country (Philippines) ^_^ But if it really gets too hot then I turn on the air-conditioner.

In my house it's set to 80-something, way warm. And no, I do not play any role in the decision. lol

im sorry, im not used to fahrenheit. im comfortable with 24-26 deg celcius. my husband also prefers colder. i just wear a jacket. but sometimes, when its cold we would just turn it off and use the fan. money also plays a role in our decision. and also the condition of mother earth, because they say the more we use our air con, the more gas it emits. some of the days when it is not too hot, we just use 2 fans in our room that face each other. one on each end.

hi jennifer-__lee brr I think 60 is pushing the saving money thing too far, I shiver inside when the room get that cool my self. I think 68 is more normal and 72 is really pleasant here in Ca in the winter it gets cool too at night and for me 60 is just too cold. I turn on the space heater when it gets to 60 or below as it feels too cool. I do not pay the energy bill here although perhaps our rents do pay it. but I refuse to be cold at night.

I keep the heat off at night in our bedroom most the time than my husband gets up first and the 1st thing he does is turn it on (i've trained him well lol!) I refuse to get out the the bed till the heat kicks in... i have electric heat so it comes on pretty fast.

I'm with you I keep it anywhere between 68 and 72. If I was living alone I probably would keep it at 65 for money reasons and just wear layers. However, my granddaughter lives with me and I need the house to be toasty for her. I do like it warmer but I hate when the bill comes in. I rather wear layers then give the gas company more money. I can't wait for the warm weather so the bill goes back down.

My little sis is having a baby soon so I'll be in the same boat! Babys need it at least 75 where ever they are (or so I'm told) so at least I'll be warm than!

Hi Jennifer lee88 In our house its set between 68 and 72 just like yours[em]happy[/em We had our windows replaced and also our siding replaced a couple of years ago and it made such a big difference as far as insulation and keeping the warm air in during winter and the cool air in during the summer months. Our house also has lower ceilings which helps in the winter because heat rises however our bedroom does face the northern side and it gets kinda cool in our bedroom sometimes during the winter but when that happens we just turn it up a couple notches to 70 or 72 its nice and warm the better insulated your home is the more energy you can save
