I used to stay up all night and sleep all day but those days are long gone since I had my daughter. Yet I am finding it hard to find time for myself during the day. I know that if i don't have some kind of space for a time it drives me nuts. So should i find time once everyone has gone to sleep or should I do it before everyone wakes up. My mom told me the reason why she gets up so early is for alone time. I know that it was cool to see my mom up and ready it helped to get the kids up and ready for school but i wonder if I could do that? But i like the night. It is quiet and peaceful. I suppose i could do everything before I went to bed, but i wonder what kind of influence that has on my daughter. does my habits shape who she is too? If i am lazy does the affect the she will be?

For me it depends. Sometimes I like staying awake at night and sometimes i wake up too early. My sleep pattern is not regular, and I'm used to it. I like star gazing at night. Being nocturnal is fun sometimes.

that's what i like to do after all where i am is one of the best places on earth for observation. But i wonder if there is more too it than that. Can you stay up late and get up early everyday or does it wear on you? For me it wears on me too much and i feel like i need to chose one or the other.

if you must choose one from these two. i advise you get up earlier. i know that's not comfortable as sleeping late and it will be harder to get up earlier. but the scientic says from 11 to 3 is the best time to sleep and for ladies that's bad for the skin if sleeping after 11 o'clock .

I think it just really depends with the person. Because me and my mom are so different. She loves sleeping and waking up early while I on the other hand, loves to sleep late and wake up late. I love to do stuffs at night or dawn (especially studying or doing assignments) wherein everybody is sleeping. It feels like nobody is going to disturb you of what you are doing. There would be no phone calls, no texts. It would just be me, the books and my radio. But when I get older, this attitude finds me sometimes an advantage because if there are tendencies or occasion that I needed to wake up early for an interview or something, I find it difficult. i have realized that this not giving me a good life because if I wake up early there a lot of things that I could do. When afternoon comes or when night comes, I could already relax and just watch tv. If we base this issue on facts, studies have shown that early to bed and early to rise is a healthy habit. This proves that people who have this habit have lesser chance of having heart problems. Also, studies have found that the "happy" hormones are produced at night during sleeping. Let us just not forget that our body needs an ample amount of rest. It is not harmful that we also give our bodies a chance to experience waking up late. Remember, too much of something is bad enough and as well as nothing of something. Have a healthy lifestyle and be happy! God bless!

Early bird. Hate going to sleep late at night. It would end me up feeling lazy the next day due to lack of sleep. As my kids had to wake up early, everyone in the house had develop of waking-up early. If not then, the consequences would not be positive.

I'm a night owl. I've been working an 8-5 job for six months now and no matter how hard I try I can barely stay on a schedule where I go to bed early and actually feel comfortable enough to wake up at my designated time in the morning. It's hard. I'm not sure if it's because it's a bad habit that's hard to break or what but it's quite hard to get on and stay on a schedule. So I'm still a night owl that works a day time job.

hello, when I was in school, I used to stay up all night. But when I got a job then I can't do that anymore... I have to sleep during the night and stay up all day. I can say I am an early bird.... sometimes I have to go to work around 1am or 5am, depend on the day. I prefer to be early bird and take some rest in the day, or night... Now, I just love the way I am doing now.

pukaprat2 hi you sound a lot like I have always been I want to stay up late and get up around 8 or 9 but marriage and kids did that in, I did used to find time when everyone was asleep occasionally or get up extra early, for me extra early was so hard. but I had worked for years as a nurses aid before I married and was on three different shifts, so I liked the 3 to 11 shift best.marriage of course changed all that. so usually I got my me time late at night.if you do not get that me time it will affect your daughter must worse. a child needs a happy mom. it should not affect her at all your doing things you want to do after all are in bed.

I don't know about sleeping the whole day away, but i definitely love to stay up late and work and think in the quiet. I also like to sleep until about noon, It's 1:11am so I guess that makes me a night owl...and a sleeper inner.

I was a night owl and also an early bird. I used to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning and then get up at about 4 or 5 to startmy day. But i see to it that i take short naps during the day. But now that i am getting older i guess it is starting to wear me out. I can only stay up late for the straight week and get up early too but now i can only do that for a couple of days. There are times that if i did not get enough sleep my knees are shaking and i feel weak. But i love the early morning best, i can think a lot better.

i am always awake at night, and sleeping in the morning then go to school in the afternoon. i have a niece that sees me doing that, she's only 2 years old. when she sees me sleeping in the morning, she wakes me up, it is almost everyday. so i'm forcede to sleep early so my niece won't do the same. at least she reminds me to sleep early and wake up early. hehe

your habits wont shape your daughter unless you tell her the reasons why you do this and that. it is just being honest to her and tell her not to do bad habits. it might have an affect on her seeing you doing things, but if you educate her well, there will be no problems. =)

I am a night owl for the fact that I cannot wake up too well. I have insomnia which makes me more of a night owl.
