Are you a morning person or an evening person?

Some people have no trouble waking up early in the morning as they are naturally early-risers. However, these types of people are already zonked out in bed as early as 9pm or 10pm. On the other hand, other people prefer to sleeping late and detest waking up in the wee hours of the morning. These people are the so-called "night owls".
So what type of person are you? Morning person or evening person (night owl)? Have you always been that way?

HI! I am both- a morning and an evening one. I go to bed late in the night and get up early in the morning. i don't like sleep, because for me it is a waste of time! I need only 7-8 hours to sleep, not more!

I assume you're a very hardworking person who knows what he wants in life and doesn't stop until he gets it.

I am definately a morning person. i always have been except during teen aged years. Always wanted to sleep then. I love mornings, it is quiet, and I get a little alone time. I like to get my work done early and relax in the evening. I am generally in bed by 10 and read for an hour then sleep. I get up at 5am.

Hi hrvillares,
I am definitely an evening person, one of those vampires.
I have no problem sleeping late... but ask me to wake up early and I have an issue.
When need be, I *can* wake up early but I really don't like it.
Cheers!

Hi sudhakar, thanks for sharing. I've worked in the night shift for two months before and always had a hard time sleeping during the day when I get home. I guess some people are more suited to work in the night shift than others.

I always get up early in the morning so I guess I would be a morning person. In theory at least I would be a morning person. There are times that I do not function well. Not really an evening person either to be honest, as I get to bed early, to get up early. Still out of the two, I would be a morning person. However, I function the best in the middle part of the day, neither morning or evening.

So you function the best in the afternoon. I guess it varies from person to person.

I'm in early-risers group since I was born. Because my mother is a teacher of elementary school. In my Country, Indonesia, Elementary school started at 7 o'clock. But the distance between The School and my house is about 2 kilometre. So, my mother always woke up early, about 4 - 4.30 a.m. Prepare for everything. And then, she brought me to the school. It's became my habit 'till now.
Not like the "night owl" that sleeping late and wake up when the sun rises high. I can sleeping late but it's been my biological time to wake up around 7 o'clock, that maximum time. I've been sleeping at 5 o'clock a.m and woke up at 6.30 a.m then i prepare to go to university. Hehehehe... That's me :)

Wow, you barely sleep. Don't abuse your body dear. :) Lack of sleep might be detrimental to you in the long run.

I'm an evening person, definitely. I'm not sure if I was always like this, but at the very least, ever since I was in my teens, I've been an evening person. During weekends or school breaks, I don't even wake up in the morning; I typically wake up around noon. And it didn't matter what time I slept, early or late, I always woke up in the afternoon.
It's not until the evening that I feel like doing some stuff. In the morning or afternoon, I don't like doing anything strenuous, physically or mentally. So, typically, I'm just watching TV or watching shows online during those times. By the evening, I could be doing homework, posting in forums, organize my PC, creating avatars and banners, and a whole ton of other stuff. Sometimes, I'm so into whatever it is I'm doing that I don't go to sleep until 5am.

I can say that im a morning person because i dont have no trouble in waking up early even it is cold. I used to practice waking up as early as 4:30 am during tuesday, thursday, friday and sunday because of a choir member in our church. But during the remaining days i wake up as early as 5am to prepare our breakfast. I used to wake up early every day. My alarm clock is useless.

I used to be a morning person during bar review. Being a morning person is one of the best moments in my life because I always wake up feeling refreshed. However, due to work reasons, I was forced to sleep late and wake up at around 9 or 10. I don't like this at all but I have to accept this fact in order to keep my job.

I am an early riser ever since from childhood to college, and until now. Sometimes I go to bed early then sleep right away especially when I am so tired with lifes routine. Often I can't just sleep as easy as that. However, the same fact remains, I still wake up early around 5 A.M to be exact always. It must have something to do with body long adjustment I believe.

Well i can say i'm both.
I got a business that requires me to be awake and alert till 10pm.
And body clock wakes me up at about 6am always.Thats when i do my browsing,
facebook and others.
In my case, i can say im more alert in the morning and tend to get burnt out when its late afternoon already.

I think the fact that it's 4am in the morning I COULD say I am a morning person. But I'd be lying. I am a night owl. I have always enjoy the peace and quiet of the night. But I never have had a problem getting up early for any reason. I just enjoy night life more. I don't like working early in the morning because of the dew. It's cold and wet, and I get grass all over my shoes.

I think i'm a night owl.. I always stay up until 4 am . But I like the night atmosphere, it's cooling and quiet. But nowadays, I have to sleep quite early as my school term has started . So I just have to depend on my alarm clock.

It is hard for me to tell whether I am a morning person or an evening person. My life is well-regulated. I got up early in the morning because I have to go to work and I go to bed around 9-10pm. I do not go out for entertainment late in the evening like some of my workmate who enjoy a "night life" . But evening is the best time for me to work or study. My brain works more effeciently in the evening.

Though i can get up very early in the moring no matter what is kind of it, i must can not go to bed late 10pm. Specilly, through 2 years experience in working, i have been realized that i had not have the potential in terms of to being a evening person at all.:)
In fact, i really do not satisfied with myself that cannot stay up late or all night for someting. For a long time, this situation was definited "lazy" by me and i felt sad for it. In my opinion, those who can get up early at the same time go to bed late, they save more time than anyone else have alltheir life. Life is short, the earlier we start to teasure our life, the earlier we can enjoy it.
