Nowadays when TV and newspaper flood us with news about disasters and cataclysms I would like to know your opinions about the biggest problems of the world. Which one do you you consider as the biggest threat for the planet and humanity - wars, terrorism, polution, crime, global warming or something else
I decided to post such a topic after I red the book State of fear by Michael Crichton. Of course it was just a novel not based on real events but really made me think so I would like to see your opinions

I think the biggest problem of the world today is "man". Man do a lot of things that contributes to all the problems like global warming, pollution, wars, etc. Name a problem and surely "man" is associated with it. The balance of the environment is no longer balance since the ever growing population of man. Crocodiles and other reptiles who survived for million of years are now becoming endangered as a result of "man's" destructive powers.
If "man" is the problem, the "man" is the solution. But how?

I am with you on that one. "Man" is to blame for wars, global waroming, polition, extinction etc. etc. That is what I was about to say. We are the worst thing that hapend to this planet which is ironic, because we have the potential to be the best thing and we just keep ruining it

the only cause behind all the humiliation is Money---which would drive an innocent to kill people and get involved in some illegal activities.while coming to the natural disasters---i think you must have watched 2012 the one who has money would rule the world(not in every aspect of life---it cant buy you happiness, good friends, partner, sound sleep though but it can buy you a good shelter for sure so you can be safe from these natural disasters.hope you got my point.Welcome to Mylot man.have a great time mylotting.

The biggest problem I feel is poverty and then comes lawlessness. The second most of the time, is due to the first. Its awaful to see the big divide where some some people live in mansions and jet across the world and spend thousands on one dress or pair of shoes while there is abject poverty in most third world countries. Little children dying without food, clean water and medicine. It seems so unfair. Terrorism is a big problem too but not to the normal person. Its a big problem for countries and their leaders except of course in countries like Iraq and Afganistan. Terrorism seems so pointless to me and I just cannot understand killing in the name of religion. I really wonder though, in spite of all countries getting together and having so many conventions and talks, whether any world leader is really sincere about wanting to eradicate poverty, terrorism, lawlessness etc. I feel the common man is more sincere in wanting to do something about it/

Hi! The Global warming is the biggest problem nowadays. And I think if we don't solve it soon, we maybe couldn't be able to recognize our planet maybe after 20-30 year or even sooner. The Global warming changes the planet with every second and we don't care about it, until it come in front "our doors" then maybe we care about it, but it will be too late. That's why we must start thinking how can we stop or better how can we help for stopping the Global warming!

Apathy, and the failure of people to realize that just because a situation doesn't effect them directly it isn't important. Running a close second would be a lack of empathy and the unwillingness of people to put themselves in someone elses shoes or see things from a different point of view.

I think that the biggest problems of the world are war, poverty and natural disasters. I would stay that terrorism is just like war because it can injure people plus kill people. Natural disasters vary from earthquakes, volcanoes, floods and tsunami events. I think the global warming is a serious problem in the world. It is challenging to be able to solve all the problems that the world has got. Yes, newspapers show us world problems all the time.

The biggest problem today is people not educating themselves properly about what is going on. Instead they rely on what is reported on the news. Which at times, can be false at worst and very embellished at the least. While all of these issues can be something that is a problem, the actual problem has that people have their opinions shaped by forces outside of their own experiences. Directly or indirectly, that could lead to those things that you mentioned.

The biggest problem is POPULATION without any confusion. It is root of all the problems we face these days, whether its unavailability of seats in collages, unemployment, poverty, corruption and many more. You may not be able to relate all these problems directly to the POPULATION issue but they are rooted to the same BIG PROBLEM "POPULATION". No of students not getting admission as there are only limited seats and not all can fit into that. Unemployment - again because of population, jobs are not generated at the same rate population is increasing.
We might have realized this but not acting at the right direction. Lets face it and do a bit of ours before its too late.

People with dangering beliefs and without travelling through the right lessons in lfe can in themselves be the biggest problem to the all of these problems are all man made so man can only do their best to make measures and take action to avoid these problems seriously affecting mankind in the future
