Any Ga-rei Zero fans out there? *spoiler warning*

During the holidays, I've found myself this short 12 episode series, which I came to be obsessed with. Especially the characters and the plotline. The first two episodes were a bit confusing since it jumps right into the action where the special supernatural division of the Japanese government are trying to take out some evil spirits of a certain level, depending on their appearance and a lot of them are dying. But the episodes following the first two episodes explain what led up to it and at the end, go back to where the series left off in the second episode and what happens after. It's supposed to be a prequel of the manga but most people prefer the anime over the manga since its more serious and not as light-hearted. I haven't read the manga because I liked how the anime ended and it gave me a sense of closure because they killed off one of my favorite characters even though in the manga that character becomes an evil spirit, no longer human.

I've seen the anime floating around but for some reason I keep on passing it up. But the way you described it made it sound really interesting. However, I do recall reading a few chapters of the manga a while back. I guess that was during my read and forget phase or something since I didn't even remember it until I saw this discussion. Anyways, I'll have to check this out. I'm in the process of waiting for the next episode of Durarara!! anyways. Thanks for sharing.
