My last visit to the dentist was 2008. The dentist told me that I have good teeth for my age so I was very happy about it. Lately though one of my tooth was starting to get a problem and I am thinking of going to the dentist again.
I think the best thing to do in order to have really healthy teeth is to visit the dentist regularly but I don't do that myself. Any advice?

The last time i visited the dentist was about 4 years back. I know this is a very long time, touch wood, but so far i had nothing to complain about my teeth.

I really think there is no need to always visit the dentist for as long as you are taking care of your teeth well.

I only go to the dentist when I have a problem The last time I went was a couple of months ago when the tooth that was fixed had come out as I had bumped against something when I had slipped. For minor problems I always phone my dentist and he gives me instructions.

Great way to make things easier. I should take that as a clue instead of going to the dentist. Thanks.

Hi Masmasika .
I was at the dentist the end of November 2009 to take care of a cavity. Also found I need a root canal on the other side. Just don't have the money for that, even with insurance (have to pay a co-pay).
It is nice to go to the dentist on a regular basis, but if one can't, just keep brushing and flossing to avoid a necessity as much as possible.

Same here, my last visit to the dentist was 2008 and it was just because it's a requirement for graduating students in our school. But if I were to go to the dentist it would be because of a tooth aches or I need cleaning. If you really want to visit the dentist, you can start by going to your trusted dentist, you would probably feel comfortable with him/her.

I visited Dentist when I was just 9 or 10 years old. After that i didn't need them again. I never have any teeth problem but now my tooth become slightly yellowish. So i think I should visit a dentist for tooth bleaching

You should do that. For a pretty girl like you, yellowish teeth doesn't fit.

well lets see here, i haven't visited the denist since i was 13 years old. lets say i am a bit older now. but i find if i get any problems to find remedies myself. like gargling salt water and flossing. but lucky for me those things stop the tooth ache and i don't have to worry. i would suggest if it is really bothering you just go to the dentist.

Hi, sorry for this delay of response. But anyway I'm here again and thanks for the advice. Tooth ache really is very bothersome.

The last time I went to a dentist was about 5 months ago.I had some enamel problem. I usually I don't visit a dentist. Its really scary, painful and embarrassing. Its really painful, when I hear that I will have to come again for a check up.
Though,it's definitely a good idea to go regularly because if your dentist finds any problems with your teeth, he can fix it right away instead of having it grow worse over the

I went to the dentist about 4 months ago for a checkup. All my life I've been going to the dentist for a yearly check up. In recent years it's become a pain because its just not fun anymore, lol.
I'm moving out in a couple weeks (or at least planning to) so it might be a while before I go back to the dentist.

That's a good attitude. They say that to have healthy teeth, one needs a yearly dental check-up but I haven't done that myself. Maybe it isn't too late for me.

I suggest you go for the dentist before anything get worst. Get some advice from the dentists, they can tell you what's wrong with you tooth. If the root of the tooth get infected, there is a possibility you will lose your tooth. So, better go for dentist as soon as possible if there is a problem of your tooth, unless you are thinking to have a gap between you teeth..I visit the dentist at least once a year, just to make sure my teeth are healthy. Now, I'm thinking about straighten my teeth...

You are right. I hate dentists so I have two teeth that were uprooted. Perhaps if I had been going to the dentist regularly my teeth are still complete.

I'm 19. I haven't been to a dentist in about 9 years. Which reminds me, I really need to go. But with money being so tight, I don't see myself going anytime soon. I've always had perfect teeth, and do take care of them. I brush about three times a day! After every meal that is. I would be surprised if I went to a dentist, and had something wrong with my teeth. Not to mention very upset.

I never visited a dentist in my life and my 32 teeth are intact with out any problem. If you use Ayurvedic tooth powder from your childhood, then your teeth will be perfectly all right with out any problem.

I cannot even remember if it was just last year or the year before 2009. It has been a long time and I just do not have the time to go and visit the dentist. I hardly go since I do not like going ever since I was younger.

Last month for a routine checkup. Popped in for 10 minutes, quick check, was given the A-OK by my dentist who stated that my teeth were in brilliant condition and to keep up the good work, and away I was.
God knows why people fear the dentist. Unless you have a particularly mucked-up set of gnashers, there's nothing to worry about

I didn't visit my dentist from years ago. I don't have problems with my teeth for now. And I hope I won't have soon. It's not bad to visit regularly your dentist. It even recommended! Because maybe you have problems which are still not visible for you. And it's better to remove them before it's too late. So I recommend visiting your dentist often - at least 2 times per year. I don't fear dentists but I don't go regularly. I should think about it!

I haven't been to the dentist in 8 years. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss occasionally. And use mouth wash on a regular basis. I treat the dentist like any other doctor. If I sense a problem I will go. If I don't sense a problem than I will keep my $75 a visit thank you very much. :o)
