Why is it that Wii games suck but Other Systems (Xbox 360, and PS3) don't?

I've noticed a lot of pretty crappy game constantly spawning for the Wii system. It seems that just as many games are being produced for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 yet neither systems games lack a natural sense of; fun, enjoyment, playability; what have you. The original idea of a system that allows you to literally point and click has huge possibilities yet somehow only crap gets put on the shelves. I want to know why you think the Wii is doing such a bad job putting out games that don't make you want to shoot yourself?

I think most WII games a more geared toward children and family fun. They seem to have this simpleness towards them, yet their are more adult type yet when I go to places to buy games I never see the more adult time. Most of the games you see are meant for younger kids. I think Nintendo is actually smart for doing this because the other games system do not make a lot of games for the younger crowd and so they are making bucks this way. I have little nieces and nephews and thats partly why I got a WII because they are here a lot and I play with them and half the time I'm more like what is the point of this but they love it. They laugh and giggle and jump around and hey they game may suck and be stupid to teens or adults but the younger kids love it.

I agree with you hmcormier. Most adults I know have heard of the Wii and thinks it's very cool. If you pull the Wii out at Thanksgiving or Christmas, chances are at least a couple of the older members of the family will be interested. My grandma is pretty good ant Wii Tennis. But I am guessing her interest in Call Of Duty would fade fast. Children under 11 and there Grandparents are the key audience here. Although my father (50 yrs old) bought a Wii and uses it everyday for the Wii fitness.

It's not that they "suck" it's that they're trying to tone towards a different audience. They're more a "family-oriented" gaming system then anything else. Which is pretty much why they dominate the charts because they hit a much broader range of an audience that will make purchases where as Xbox360 and PS3 are toned towards younger gamers, the Wii is toned towards pretty much all ages. On top of that their marketing strategy is genius. They pay way low costs to develop the games and really they set such a LOW standard for the family games as in. Super Simplistic so that they can actually get away with it where as if someone made a game for the Xbox360 or PS3 it just wouldn't work.

Its true that thers plenty of showelware for the Wii but to tell you the truth. The Wii seems to have way more games than the 360. I was actually looking for Wii and 360 games that I might be interested in buying for those consoles and to my surprise.. I actually ended up with plenty of Wii tittles that I would like to play but only a handful of 360 games. Anyway.. back to the topic. The Wii has simply sold so well and is considered a mainstream and casual gamer console that plenty of developers just try to make a quick buck by releasing some kind of mini games or other not so awesome games that most of the people will probably even buy... The problem is that plenty of the people who do buy a Wii aren't even real games.. Don't get me wrong. Their gamers but their casual gamers.. they don't really seem to be interested in games with a story or a great experience.. they simply seem to buy the Wii because everyone seems to have one and they want to play those minigames.. I bet that most of the people who bought one for that reason aren't even playing it anymore because they have gotten tired of the same old minigames..

The wii is totally another gaming system and they are aimed at or for all age groups so all can enjoy them not only children or elders ,and more over the pipeline of graphics used for making xbox 360 and ps3 are more so then they can curve they images really nicely but wii just is not like that it is supposed to also released ne versions of old games as legends of NINTENDO and they are moreover into a family so thats why they sale more but when telling about games and facility are ranked last

Wii games are meant for the casual gamer and are graphically inferior to Xbox 360 and PS3, Wii has it's own audience and they serve to a different genre of gaming altogether

I'm not sure why they are putting games out that don't seem like much fun. I know that their focus has been more on the exercise and learning type programs and not things like Halo and games like that. Maybe it has something to do with the price difference. Wii was always the cheapest of the systems. Maybe that is catching up to them.

It comes down to each systems power and graphics ability. I think the Wii games made for Wii are often the MOST fun games. However, when they try to make a game across all three platforms, that is often when the Wii game suffers.

its just that all games on wii are made for movement so there are no quality games yet but i think there will be soon because ps3 and xbox dont need that movement control they can spend more time on graphics and playability but wii still rocks

Wii caters more to whole audience. That's why games that come out for wii are games that can be played with family and kids. Wii has outranked the ps3 and 360 in sales so I guess they are on the right track.

Hah you think the Wii system sucks? Nintendo keeps themselves in a pretty level area. Nintendo isnt like the 360 and ps3 because wii is made to be a family system. It is not aimed at the same age groups as 360 and ps3, which are pretty much funded by most people over 13 now even though their games are suppose to be for 17 and up. If ps3 or 360 makes a bad game they fall and nintendo is just gonna stay the same. The wii isnt doing a bad games of putting games out it is just you are with the 360 and ps3 violence and insanity games and that generation/ age group.

i agree with the first two comments. while ps3 and Xbox 360 are designed for the hardcore gamers, the wii is more of a family game night kinda thing, so most of the games are 'fun' party mini games with multiplayer and colourful visuals(i *sigh* had to experience this first hand...). there are a FEW good games tho, like Resident evil 4 and madworld, and SSBB and the super mario games, but... seriously Nintendo... How Much SONIC THE HEDGEHOG CAN I PLAY??!!! lolz bottom line, the technology and potential for an awesome gaming experience is there, but they just arent using it to the fullest.
