Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson Have No Shame!!

I have no doubt his most ardent "dittohead" listeners will find a way to spin this, but as far as I'm concerned Rush Limbaugh has proven yet again that he has no heart, no soul, certainly no brain and NO SHAME!! On today's radio show Rush first attacked President Obama for taking three days to address the nation following the attempted Christmas Day attack. Of course, there was no mention of the fact President Bush had taken SIX days to comment publicly on the attempt by the "shoe bomber" in 2001! In comparison, Rush was displeased with the fact that the President took only one day to remark on the devastation in Haiti. He even implied that Obama was happy about the tragedy, saying his Administration will "use this to burnish their, shall we say, credibility with the black community, in the ... the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. It's made to order for them." Unfortunately, Rush wasn't the only conservative to show his true colors as TV evangelist and former Presidential candidate "Reverend" Pat Robertson had this to say on "the 700 Club": "They were under the heel of the French ... and they got together and swore a pact with the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you'll get us free from the French.' " Maybe someone can enlighten me about what he meant by that! You can listen to both of these poor excuses for humanity in their own words here: http://www.sphere.com/politics/article/rush-limbaugh-sees-red-over-obamas-response-to-haiti-earthquake/19315905 Any comments? Surely Rush has no shame. The guy is a Racist and I say it with a capital R. I guess his problem is that he is unhappy that the president is black well to bad for him cause it has happened. He is even so foolish that he does not know the people who are oppressed are the minority. As for Pat, I am sure that he is implying that the reason that Haiti is having this problems as a result of a pact they had with the devil. How did he know that?

You know Rush has been around for a long time. I remember him when Clinton was president and he talked badly about him, too. Clinton isn't black. But he is a Democrat. I really don't know where you get off calling him a racist. Do you have any proof?

I certainly agree that Rush is a racist. Piasabird, we "get off" calling him a racist because that's what we believe based on his words and actions through the years. I don't know how something like that could be proven unless someone photographs him at a KKK meeting but I feel as sure as I could that he is. Annie

Well Piasa they're among those who believed that list of bogus quotes attributed to Rush Limbaugh. I still have yet to see any of the people calling him a racist furnish one iota of proof to back up said claims.

Why are you so shocked everytime Rush says or does something stupid? You know he is going to do it. He makes a living at it and gets paid nicely to do it. Plus he got what he wanted. YOu and a lot of other people are now ticked off and talking about him. He loves for people to talke about him. Good or bad. As for Robertson, he is insane. So I plan on just ignoring them both as much as possible.

Lol. As soon as I saw the title I was thinking "Way to state the obvious." Now I can't begin to decipher what Pat Robertson was trying to say and frankly, I don't care. He's a moron. As for Rush, yes, he's shameless. Yes, it's exactly what I expect from him. Funny thing though... I don't recall you objecting when people on the left said the EXACT same thing about McCain during the election when Russia invaded Georgia. One particular liberal on mylot, Greatdebater if memory serves, tried to sell me a conspiracy theory that it was all set up to bolster McCain's campaign.

Sorry but I don't see any similarities here. Obama isn't running for office now he's President and he did what any President would have and should have done following this tragic earthquake and the color of anyone's skin has nothing to do with it. Annie

Yup, it was debater. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1665292.aspx?p=2 But there were no shortage of pundits who focused on how Russia's attack on Georgia, and the thousands killed in those attacks, were a boon to the McCain campaign. People even made a big deal about the fact that one of his staff was a lobbyist for Georgia or something of the sort. The fact is that there are always people who will accuse politicians of using tragedies as opportunities to better themselves. The worst part is, sometimes they're right.

Disclaimer: Please set your sarcasm meters to full on maximum power before reading this... *gasp! *Shock! Rush and Robertson? Said something stupid? I'm absolutely stunned! Why, these two brilliant men are never at a loss for in depth intelligent commentary in times of greatest need. How can one forget robertsons brilliant wisdom with remarks like "maybe florida will get hit by a metoer for their tollerence of homsexual relationships"......

Anne if you read the Old Testament, you will find that there were times when Israel strayed from the God of Abraham and followed false gods. according to scripture, following the Civil war between Israel and Judah the norther ten tribes turned away. They were carried away. Robertson is a theologist, and kook, a Gaff Master only surpassed by Vice Predident Biden. I heard his comments, its just Pat being Pat. It's like having a relative with alzhimers(spelling). Some times they just don't make sense. However, now he is known for his ill advised statements, but on the broadest sense, he is relating to that nation's history with witchcraft, voodoo and the like. On Limbaugh, RUSH IS RIGHT. Rush, Beck, Boortz, God Bless these Patriots. These voices of Liberty fighting the good fight against the Leftist Hoard. The Democrat Party is dragging this wonderful country over the Socialist Cliff into Oblivion. So you haters keep it up. November 2010 is gonna be some sweet payback at the polls. Its gonna be a route.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about religion and the scriptures. I sure disagree with comparing Robertson favorably with our Vice President! If Robertson is Like someone with Alzheimer's he's been afflicted for a long time since he's made quite of few similarly disgusting comments following horrific events. "Ill-advised" is a huge understatement! I doubt that God would agree with you about "these patriots" or "voices of Liberty fighting the good fight". I find it hard to believe that someone, in defending Rush Limbaugh and the others you mentioned, would call me and others who share my views "haters"! Rush and company are the most hateful, hurtful, mean-spirited people I've ever known of and don't have a shred of human compassion for anyone who isn't a white conservative Christian who doesn't belong to a union! With Rush it's a given that, no matter what the president does or doesn't do, he'll be in hot water in Rushland. So, according to Rush, we're not a compassionate, caring nation...we're really stingy and selfish and never help anyone unless it's for political gain. Uh huh...

Yeah, we're stingy alright... You know, what sickens me about people like Rush is not that I don't like his politics or that I don't like that he criticizes Obama or other Democrats. It's the fact that he can never, ever give anyone "on the left" the benefit of the doubt about anything! Then HE'S the one who constantly brings up race and yet if someone says he's a racist here they're in hot water! (Been there, done that...) Annie

Do you understand you are giving Rush exactly what Rush wants? He's an entertainer and this is how he makes his money... saying outrageous stuff! I don't agree with his tactics but I have to say the man's brilliant. He plays the media like a trumpet. I though you don't like to attack people personally? I mean "poor excuses for humanity" "no heart, no soul" ?...that's pretty bad. Although I'm sure both these men have their imperfections, they do a lot of good work too. You and others who do as you are doing here are doing just what Rush wants you to do to expose in the left what he wishes to expose... the ugly.

You thought right - I don't like to attack PEOPLE personally but I see little evidence that Rush Limbaugh fits that description. He certainly has no human compassion! If you're calling me "ugly", have at it. I'M very far from perfect and I'm certainly not rich nor powerful but I consider myself a better person than Rush Limbaugh. Annie

When I saw your discussion I thought how funny, Rush gets to you again. But the animosity in the discussion turned my stomach. I listen to Rush. He is an entertainer. He does make some good points but otherwise he is an a55. I know this. I think a lot of his listeners know this. I do not take what he says as law. I get news, opinions, and editorials from all different sources. Conservative and liberal. I am a proud Christian but do not listen to Robertson.

You're obviously intelligent enough to have a mind of your own and to know Rush for what he really is but I really worry that many of his callers that I've heard through the years may not be. The fact that he was voted as the "most influential conservative" in a recent poll is disturbing. Annie

i want to hear what comes out of pat robertsons mouth next. theres no telling what he will say. with such comments his days on tv might be numbered. minus these comments though hes a good person. one thing i got to give him credit for is he doesn't hold back on what he says in the wake of such events.

You're certainly right that he doesn't hold back! I can't say one way or another if he's a "good person" minus these comments but these comments are part of the person he is and that's not so good. Annie

You can see my response at Debater's for my feelings on Robertson. Rush is Rush. I only have one concern about this, though: Does Robertson get the Harry Reid defense from anyone? Seriously, everyone. Robertson's an old man. In his time, acts of God were happening. Robertson was a young, illustrious man during the Salem witch trials, full of fire and brimstone. He's a product of his century.

I do not understand why that man has a job. His personal attacks show nothing but his own ignorance. I personally think that he should have been fired for many of his remarks. Maybe he should have his own show on FOX News! That would be great! I have another great Idea, Palin/Limbaugh 2012(Then The World Would End). But if the world didn't blow up, it would guarantee Obama's second term. :o) I have no idea what Robertson's comment were getting at. I rarely try to decode religious jargon. There is a difference between using religion to enlighten, and using it to frighten and confuse. -Tony

I don't know how he could have a job either! I know he has the right to free speech but still, when someone spouts such crap on TV you'd think the sponsors would run for the door! Annie
