Are peoples more selfish, more insensitive, just because they think that life is important just if they have a good life?
We don t care any more about if others are happy or not, if others die or not, if maybe they need emphaty, support, or maybe just a good word?
I ask this question just because a day before i start a discussion about what happened in Haiti, how peoples die there, how much they are scared, and i ask if you were there, in same situation how you can feel....and peoples don t answer when i say that they need us to pray for them....is normal?
maybe is something what i don t understand, but i am so sorry for all this peoples who lost somebody who they never find again.I can imagine if i can t find my sons under buildings, and ...is so hard.
What you fee?

Yes, I think so, and it is true! Nowadays people don't care about the others around them, they only care for themselves and their relatives. They don't care about their friends, if they need some help or something else, don't care about charity and sometimes they even don't care about their own family. Which I think is very sad and i am glad, I am not such a person!

I do think that people have gotten more insensitive and more selfish. However just because people did not respond to your discussion is not proof of this. Maybe they didnt respond for other reasons. Maybe they dont pray. Maybe they dont watch news and have no idea what is going on. Maybe your discussion didnt strike them as something they wanted to respond to.
I feel awful for the Haitians and have prayed for them and will continue to pray. But if you pray, and you believe in a higher power, then you also have to believe that this may have happened for a reason.

So ryy, you don t understand, i don t car if somebody answer to my discussion or not, i want to say that people, step by step start don t care about others, if peoples answer to discussions about food, sport, music or something else, but they don t like to say just sorry about peoples who lose everything, is not a sign that peoples don t care?

Regardless of the time and place, there have always been people who cared about those around them, and there have always been people who did not care about those around them. I just think that in this day and age, people are more honest about how they feel, and some are a bit more greedy, so that's why it appears that no one cares about eachother anymore.

icesmile yes people do seem more insensitive because we are in
a bad recession with lots of people either out of work or having hours cut back, so they are under so much pressure and all they can think of is their own problems. well we should look around us and be thankful we have jobs yet if we do, then think of the people in Haiti who have lost everything and at least pray for them and for help; to come to them. We have to think of others if we intend to be good God fearing people, we are not to be selfish pigs intent only on our own little worlds.
