Coke Light or Coke Regular?

I enjoy Coke and a big fan eversince. We all know the effect of softdrinks in our system too, especially to the urinary system, the kidneys and all. I always get Urinary Tract Infection especially if I overload with softdrinks. What I noticed recently is, when I tried for how many times the Coke Light, it tend to be less harmful to causing me UTI than the Coke Regular. I do this because I am in the borderline of my blood glucose level raising high and Coke Light is amazingly really sugar-free!... Is the effect of the Diet Coke on my system is just another reaction or regular's effect which I always encounter is just a natural effect and Diet Coke (name of Coke Light before) effect is just coincidental?

Do you get Coke Zero over there? It is a form of diet coke but they use a different type of sweetener which is supposedly not that unhealthy, and it has the same taste of the proper coke! It does have more caffeine, so be wary of it. I suggest you stick to something healthier. :)

Yes we have Coke Zero for a long time now, I just wonder why is Coke Zero cheaper than Coke Light? When both says "sugar-free"? Maybe the type of sweetener substitute, the unhealthy substitute is scary! Wooo! But at the bottom of these all, I know regular or diet, still not good, fresh juices are the best! hehe!

If the options are regular or diet, I go for regular because I don't trust artificial sweeteners. The only soda I have been drinking lately is called Hansen's - all natural, no preservatives or artificial flavors, and its made from non-processed can sugar. About as healthy as you can get for a soda.

Hello Marzha_Martina me too like to have some coke whenever possible for me as am not having other refreshments as everybody does. Also when on outdoor trip, use less of water and more of coke as atleast its hygenic.Even when am having my fast foods, like to enjoy it with coke, it tastes and ease good.Well myself i prefer an strong coke as it really is refreshning and tasty, the light coke is too sweet and its hard to drink when its a little hot.Yeah mostly enjoy to have Thumps Up, Coca Cola, etc stuff, or else will prefer for soda that too in very much less quanitity about 200-300 ml.Anyways keep it up with your coke, Happy mylotting.

Coke light is still not considerably better for you than regular so when asked i usually just choose regular. Although i'd only really choose regular because its what i have most of the time, sticking with what i know i like :D Although they don't taste that different either, which i guess is the point. That it tastes the same but is better than you.....i think

It does not matter to me whether it's coke regular or coke light as long as its Coke. That's what matters to me. Coke has already been a part of my everyday life. However, my hubby is more addicted to Coke than I do. We have a stock of Coke at home. Just the two of us can consume 2 litres a day. I know it's bad. I actually tried hard not to drink coke for one whole day but I can't do it. I don't know what's with coke that I can't say No to it. :)

well I am a big normal coke drinker and have been drinking coke for over 20 years lol, and I have never had a uti infection of any health issues from coke. I have tried coke zero and think it tastes foul lol, so I just stick with normal coke. I guess unless you drink water then most drinks are harmful even fresh fruit juices contain natural acids that can cause dental issues and coffee contains caffeine that can become addictive so I guess its the same as anything in life variety and keeping it balanced.

I don't drink either one as a general rule. But if I do have one it is regular coke. I don't get the UTi and all because I dont' drink one very often. I know the lack of sugar in coke light is better for you than sugar, however, all the junk in the coke to replace the sugar isn't. Actually they have found it addicting. I haven't tried coke light since it has sugar substitutes in it.

I prefer regular coke. I also enjoy vailla and cherry coke varieties. I never liked diet coke or coke zero. Their taste just did not appeal to me.

Regular Coke, definitly. I don't like the taste of Coke Light, but I used to drink a lot of Pepsi Max. I drink less when I drink only regular Coke, with the Pepsi Max I would just crave more and drink it all evening. So I decided to stop with the light products, and stablize my regular coke intake. I'm not going to stop drinking it, must have some vices, but all the time is a bit too much.

Neither is really good for you...so my advice...be balanced. Drink regular coke and then twice as much water afterwards. Anything sugar free these days has more dangerous chemicals than the regular formula. If you have a lot of trouble with UTI's...push more water and stuff like cranberry juice and try to limit your sodas in any form. Best wishes to you!

Im so sorry you are having problems with UTI and you love Coke so much. Yes, its the sugar giving you the UTI. Chicken with high dosages of antibiotics can also give you UTI. Have you tried taking yogurt pills? They will greatly help you with your UTI. It might be worth trying if you think you just cant give up the Coke. As for the "no sugar sweetener" I try to stay as far away from those as possible. My husband had kidney stones frequently and the doctor told him the milk was causing it. He now swears that Coke is helping him not get anymore kidney stones.

Sugar is not really good for the health. It's been said that sodas or softdrinks contain lots of sugar which could lead to diabetes and other related diseases. That is now I try to order Diet Coke if I need to have sodas; otherwise, water would be a lot better.

I also have with you the same symptoms, but before I go to see a doctor ,then he said the best not to drink the deverage, whether or not sugar, drink after the body is harmful. You should drink plenty of pure water, can increase the body's resistance to add minerals.
