I got a ticket a few weeks ago and I called yesterday to see how much it was. It was $400! I could not believe it. I have had tickets before but have never had to pay anywhere near that much. I have a court date for next month and I am going to have to go and try to make some sort of payment arrangements. I am a single mother with two children and one more on the way. I live off of $800 a month child support. There is no way I can pay a $400 ticket all at one time. I think that is just ridiculous that it costs that much!

krc31028 A speeding ticket well I feel sorry for you in that you have limited funds but sad because you probably speeded in a school zone. we lost a dear crossing guard in Tustin because a lady was speeding and late for getting her hair done. so she
ploughed into a crossing guard who was trying to get the school kids safely across the street.I do not feel much sorrow for anyone who gets a ticket for speeding in a school zone. You have children of your own, would you want a speeding driver to plow into your children as they cross the street to school with the guard leading the way?Perhaps the ticket is that high so people will try not to get a ticket by driving at the right speed for the area they are in. Maybe you will now not speed. I imagine a lot of people will not feel any great sorrow for you.

Hey I know the feeling, mine was 500$ for failure to provide proof of insurance. The charges are going up which I think is crazy. Oh and they should give you up to 90 days to pay it, it adds on like 15 bucks to do that but gives you 3 months, also if you aren't finished paying it by the end of the 90 days I think you can request community service for the remaining amount. Might not be something you can do with 2 kids and being pregnant but they might have something you can do.

Yup the government gets your money one way or another even if you dont have it to give. Dang 400 is alot was it for not proving you have insurance? If that was it and you do have it you could get your insuance agent to write you a letter to get it dropped. Just curious i have had that happen before. Im sure they will let you make payment arrangements but its still tough to afford payments.
