Money is an inanimate object and therefore cannot be good or evil.
Since money is inanimate, it has to be used by a person for it to have any influence. Money can be used to provide enormous benefit and it can be used to bring destruction. Does that make money good or evil? Of course not! But those who put the money to use can be termed in such a way.
The actual quote is taken from 1 Timothy 6:10 "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil" and it follows Paul talking about people who grasp to become rich at the expense of others.
There is no doubt that the USE of money by evil or unwise people can bring about much misery, or that the LOVE OF MONEY and CHASING AFTER MONEY will cause some people to trample over others and to commit evil deeds in their pursuit.
Money is a commodity - a necessary commodity - which should be used wisely to bring joy, satisfaction and benefit to many.

First of all I want to greet you a pleasant day marketingmother! Well, I think the right quote phrase is this "the love of money is the root of evil". For me the saying is correct because when you are already too greedy to money. Your eyes became a coin and your heart became made of gold. But honestly? For me it is also depend to the people who have a great thinking ability and to those people who can easily became a slave of gold.

In addition, there are people who is ready to kill a person just for the money. Where the value of the money became high as the value of life. Which is wrong because no matter what happen the value of life can never be buy. Especially when you will buy it for a wrong purpose of life.
As I know it really happen at ancient time and now it is still happening. One example of it is in movies where they show the evil thoughts of money when you are already to greed on it. Other reason for it is because of the poor status of people. Which they will do all the things that they can to have a money in their hands.

Money is just a piece of paper that has numbers printed on it or a piece of metal with figures stamped on it. Money in itself is not evil. As with any inanimate object, it is how it is used that reveals the user's intent. Humans decide if money is evil or if it is good. Inanimate objects cannot make such decisions.

Actually, the full quote is "the love of money is the root of all evil." Money itself is neither evil nor good. The things people will do to obtain money are limitless. Many people will submerge their ethical or moral qualms if some dubious action will bring in money. One part of this that puzzles me is that people who are already rich continue to work 70 and 80 hours a week and continue to engage in subterfuge, deceit, and outright theft in order to have more money. I just don't get it. Why does a person need 14 bedrooms? You only sleep in one. If you have everything you want but have little time to enjoy it because you are constantly engaged in increasing your wealth, what is the point? A man with a million dollars wants to have two million. A man with a billion dollars wants to have two billion. What on earth for?
It is not the money itself that is a problem but the incessant urge to always grasp for more. It isn't even good to eat.

Yes. It is all about comparing yourself to the other guy. Suppose you just bought a new Ford Expedition. You are so proud of it you park your wife's car in the garage but your Expedition stays in the driveway, where all the neighbors can see it. Your water heater explodes and you call a plumber. He shows up in an Expedition just like yours, but his has leather seats and GPS, neither of which you bought because they cost extra money. Now your new toy is not special. The plumber has a better one. What has happened to your new car that you loved so much? Nothing. But you thought it gave you status. Now it does not, and you think less of it. And of yourself.

What a difference it makes when something is wrongly quoted. Money is not evil but going after it is. Money is needed for survival without which nothing can be achieved and nothing can be done. We are here you and I just because we have the means to buy a pc and even a broadband connection!!!

It must be! Because I am like the least evil person I know.
I believe that too much money can add to the corruption of a person. But I don't think it's the money's fault. I believe some people have evil "roots" that money feeds. Yeah I think that's the best way I can put it.

I am also one of the least evil persons I know. Maybe that is because I do not have any money. No, that is not it. I had what is called in the insurance industry a "catastrophic illness" and I went broke. Before that, I was pretty affluent. And I was not a bad guy then, either. I have never loved money. I like what I can do with it, but when money is short, life is pretty good, anyway.

Money is not evil, people who care more about money than other lives are the evil ones. Money doesn't have the ability to BE evil, it is just money. Money is a necessity. Without money, nobody could survive, money is necessary to keep food in your stomach, clothing on your back and a roof over your head. Basically without money, a person could not live long, because they would be walking around with rags on, freezing, and starving. So no, money is not evil, and people who have money aren't evil, it's the people who have money and care about it more than they care about other people--or hurt other people for money, that are evil.
Sometimes I think that people who are struggling think that money is evil, because they don't have much of it, but that is not money's fault. Money does not grow on trees, it would be nice if it did, nobody would have to worry about not being able to get by, but it's reality.
I actually thought of a line from a song I know when I was writing, it says "In this world it's not all the money that's evil, it's the ones that choose it over life", that basically sums up how I feel about this question. Money alone has NO powers of good or evil, it's the people who have the money who make the money good, evil or neutral.

I don't really believe that. Greed is found in many ways and existed long before money did. Money is only worsened the already existing problem. People want power, they want everything, to be on top. In today's world that means having the most money. However, that isn't nessarlly the case. At least I don't think so. Even the poorest person can be "evil".

No, money is not really evil. I think, money is just a tool or thing. So it will not doing evil if there's no someone that used them for evil. Because the money, we can have economic system that complex now. It makes easier to buy or trade. But as we know there are other people that don't have money at all or they are trying hard to get some money. So, if we don't want make money become an evil tool, we can donate and help some people that really need money :)
