I have written quite a few poems. I just write whatever I think about. I also ask people what they want me to write about ant then I write a poem for them. Most of mine are religious in nature. I also have controversial poems that I have writtten usually about an event or about past controversies. I do not have any published though, but I am working on this.

I have published a book of poems. Cat-House Sonnets, 100 poems celebrting cats, has won the Muse Medallion from Cat Writers Association and is available at Amazon. Many cat lovers have rave reviews about this book.
The only type of poetry I write is sonnets, a 14-line poem with a definite rhyme scheme. I find the strict form keeps me on task and succinct.

Yes, I have written poems. Some of them are about love, my wife and my family. Some are about my faith and others are about history. The latest poem that I wrote was about the last commemoration and remembrance of D-Day, June 6, 1944. It is posted at http://stores.lulu.com/davebrown64.

I love to write poems and have published some in both Poetry.com and triond and one has actually been published in a book of poetry. I get my inspiration usually from love or loss of love. Also from personal stuff that has happened to me. It could just come to me while sitting back and relaxing the words will come out and I will just start to write them.

I had written a lot of poems when I was in college and had one published in our college literary journal. Then I just sort of put it aside, and hadn't written any in a long time. I was on Gather (a kind of social networking site...do you know it?) and was reading about a poetry challenge. It was to write a poem in the form of a triolet. That really kicked things off. I liked the challenge of having to write to a specific form. Since then, I have done a lot of haikus as well.
In the past I would have written about mostly personal (emotional) topics. Now that I am older, I find myself writing more humorous topics or on subjects I like, like art. I think my best poem recently was about Van Gogh's paintings.

Oh yes, I wrote a big poem when I was in college... Actually I have written several poems in my school days too. But those are nearly all forgotten... The one that I wrote during college, was based upon my own life... The inspiration was my life itself... Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a proper site or agency to publish my work... It is a highly realistic poem and I am sure it would be liked by many... Have fun!

I have written some poems in Maltese language.
I have managed to publish some of them in local newspapers
and in anthology. I do get my inspiration from daily life
events, from things that attract my interest.

I wrote my first poem about 20 years ago. I was 12 at that time and I wrote about animals and about my daily life. Since that time I have written many poems, but I also have a lot of unfinished poems in my notebook. I hope to finish some of them. If I am stuck I usually put them away for a while and try again later. Today I write poems about myself and my problems, poems about my work with other people (nursing home, kindergarden, home for people with special needs etc), poems based on parabels or fairytales and funny poems.

I have a few and hope to write more. Year 2010 should be the year for me to concentrate on this but I have so much on my 'dish' that I get distracted. As you know one needs peace and quiet to write. I get inspired from anything and everything, mostly life's experiences.

I have written some poetry over the years, but not in awhile. Most of it was written during rough periods in my life and was about the struggles I was going through at the time. For some reason I only write poetry that is any good during periods of great sadness or frustration such as people close to me dying or at times in my life when I was going through very hard circumstances.

Yes, I have written 26 poems already since I started when I was still in college, most of the time I do get my inspirations on personal experiences and those of my friends. Most of the time I can write more poetry when I am sad, or broken hearted, maybe because all emotions are there and that's how I am releasing my pain.
