I don't know about Man U selling him, but I really do not think Rooney will want to leave. The two seem to be made for each other. Rooney is a fierce competitor and requires a club like Man U to fulfill his aspirations. Under Sir Alex he has really matured as a player and looks a world beater.
But given the debt situation in Man U anything is possible currently.
Cheers!

It just that last year , MU profit / loss register a negative 40 over million pound and they manage to turn into profit only due to sale of C.Rolando
So it is just a comment whether they need to do the same this year ( selling of high profile player ) to get into profits
So dream on Chelsea ...dream on ....
We are going to make history of getting 4 titles in a row....
Glory Glory United !!!

i think that's no problem for MU if they sell rooney.
ferguson is brilliant coach and i am sure he can make a new player shine and replace rooney.
this is same case as cristiano ronaldo when he leaves MU.
and i think federico macheda is potential player to replace rooney

Yeah, when I read that, I got a shock too. MU is playing not so well after C. Ronaldo has left. If they are going to sell Rooney, then they will have difficult time. But I do believe it can happen, as I have read that the boss is losing the team's money. I am not sure if it's true. If it is so, then they have no choice, but sell a good player and get the money for their team.

I have to agree with ram_cv in this case. It's not so much about MU wanting to sell Rooney as it is Rooney who wants more money and wants to go to another club. I guess this is the best time for Real Madrid or Chelsea to make a move, even if I'd like a surprise move made by Barcelona.

Rooney is the best United has at the moment. If they sell him now they will drop from the big four.Already Manchester City has a great team with probably the best players in England. After selling Ronaldo for 96 k to Real Madrid I don't think they will let go to Wayne.Rooney once told that he wants to end his career at United,he doesn't look like the type of player that plays for a lot of teams during a career. One more thing,he can't play the type of football that is played in Spain. He relies most on strenght and stamina, the football that is played in Spain is pretty slow with a lot of short passes and keeping possesion.I am talking about Spain becouse Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested in buying him.I think that he will end his career at United just like Ryan Giggs of Paul Scholes.

I can only hope!!! If they do I hope he gets picked up by a German team. That would be great! Sorry I am a Chelsea fan. This news excites me greatly!!!
